Dr. Ernesto Rubio, MD

I would leave a zero if I had the option to do so! I was not surprised to read all the negative reviews from other patients About Dr. Rubio. My dad, a stroke survivor with aphasia, visited Dr. Rubio's office yesterday, March 26, 2025, accompanied by my mom who went to the appointment to help assist my dad as he is not able to express himself due to the aphasia, and judging by their experience with Dr. Rubio, it's a good thing my mom was there. My dad requested a male Dr. who spoke Spanish so that he can practice his Spanish language speaking abilities which he had lost after the stroke. After a 2hr wait, my dad was finally called to a room. It was then that my mom was told by Dr. Rubio, that he was not allowed to speak Spanish nor was my mom able to translate for my dad. BOGUS AND ABSOLUTLY REDICULOUS!!!! Dr. Rubio also did not take his time with my dad, did not check his vitals but did suggest my dad be put on medication for high cholesterol or "lose 40 pound." Quickly after that… remark, Dr. Rubio left the room and left my parents wondering if that was the end of the appointment. My mom had to ask someone to find out if the appointment was over. Couldn’t have been a worse experience for a stroke survivor and the family members assisting. Dr. Rubio refused to answer questions and seemed repulsed to have family members present to assist with translation. A complaint that seems to be very common with other patients as well. My mom had also mentioned that the entire appointment felt like a college course that they were attending, instead of a doctor's appointment. Dr. Rubio was very condescending, rude and very unprofessional!!!! He is more interested in doing the bare minimum than he is in listening to the patient's concerns. He is not a people person and unfortunately the patient won't get any help or answers. Dr. Rubio is too busy hearing himself speak, that he will not allow himself to listen to the patient. He should not be in practice and I am so glad that others have voiced their complaints about him as well. He needs to be fired!!!!

My elderly mother was seeing Dr Rubio and I took her to every visit. Everytime we went in to see him it was the same- came in, asked a couple questions, stared at the computer screen hardly making any eye contact, and got out of there as quickly as he could. Every question or concern we had was met with an arrogant answer or a referral to another doctor with follow up tests and visit. It seems every appointment is a waste of time and we get nowhere! He seriously needs to check his ego at the door before walking into the room and take the time to listen to a patient before pawning them off to any and every other doctor to do his work! PLEASE DONT USE THIS DOCTOR! I made her change to Dr Achin on Azure at Hope medical center and WHAT A DIFFERENCE! My mom’s health has improved and she actually listens! She’s called my mom personally at home to check on her and completely superseded Rubio in every way!

Dr. rubio does not listen to what you have to say, it seems like the only thing he does is write refferals to other dr. I had to wait over an hour at my last appt. and still didn't see him seems like he is over booking his patient's.

Im so happy we still have choices as to who we can see as our PCP. When your own doctor puts his hand up to stop you in the middle of describing why you are to see him, and then never lets you finish...its time to move on to another doctor.3 different times i have left the office asking myself what just happened....a professional and of my own age treating a patient like a scolded dog. After reading other comments , im making the right decision.

This doctor is more interested in doing the bare minimum than listening to your concerns. Don't waste your time, he is not a people person and you won't get any help or answers

Great experience going to see Doctor Rubio. I fell in good hands when I go to see him.

Without knowing me he started changing my medications which in turn caused me vertigo, elephant legs, nausea and generalized unbearable pain, which has caused me to lose work time. Dr. Rubio is too busy hearing himself talk that will not allow him to listen to the patient. The “First do no harm” rule was obviously missed in his learnings. I have tried explaining to him what my problems are but he simply disregards anything I say. I am not ignorant for I am a critical care nurse. I do know what I speak of. This has been a very bad experience for me

I'm so glad to hear everyone speak up.he should not be in practice. Send him to the really mean part of the of the world

Wait time 3 1/2 hours to see this doctor. I don't know what he's doing. He's in a rush and doesn't listen to what a patient have to say! I will definitely not refer him to anyone this doctor is a joke.

Dr. E. Rubio is the best doctor I have ever had in my life.... And for the record, I am an ''olsdster'' with a very rare disease. The staff from in the door to out the door is wonderful. The doc spends time with me and answers all my questions, no matter how silly they may be. For anyone needing a new doc, I recommend Dr. E. Rubio.
