Dr. Erskine M Caperton JR., MD

My very good friend recommended Dr. C to me about 10 years ago and it has been the best thing I've ever done. I was really suffering from chronic pain and was very close to just "hanging it up." The way he respected me and assured me was life changing. His bed side manner is just correct. Trust was established almost immediately and has never wavered. My life has changed dramatically and I must give him a great deal of the credit. He knows his stuff. Up to date on the latest and willing to discuss and share his knowledge. Takes time when necessary never rushes you. Is interested in the world and open to anything. Has opinions and when asked is willing to share them. He is the best informed doctor I have ever met. His care and concern are real and I am sure he gives his best to every patient.

I have not seen Dr. Caperton since 1993 and I miss him. I am now living in the Orlando area. I have tried 4 or 5 Rheumies here and they all give you a good exam the 1st time and after that they don't even bother to look at your joints but ask only if you have any complaints. He always treated me with kindness and respect. I am going to write him and give him an update. He may be interested in how I am after 42 years of R A and 31 years on MTX

I've had RA since I was a kid and have been to many doctors. Only one other doctor, who has retired, cared about his patients as much as Dr Caperton. He knows what is going on in my life and cares what I think about how we will treat my disease. We work together to treat it and he takes time to chat. He is an awesome guy. I am worried about who I'll go to when he retires - I hope that is not soon! I've been to some who only want to dose me with the next drug on the list, and don't listen at all. Scary.

Dr. Caperton has been my doctor since 1980. At that time he was a godsend as I had gone to a very bad Dr in St. Paul (who was a "respected" rheumatologist) who didn't listen to me and gave me an off the charts injection of gold, which sent me into a tailspin for months. Dr. C sends me to specialists when I need them, pays attention to what's going on with me and my life, is extremely thorough and a wonderful friend. Can't imagine these past 30 years without him!!

Dr. Caperton has been my doctor since about 1994. He is very compassionate and always goes to bat for me when I need help. He is always there and loves his patients and his profession. He is very thorough and spends what ever time he needs. I feel he really cares about me and what is going on in my life. He is also known as the best Rheumatologist in the cities.
