Dr. Esther Lynn Fields, DO

I have only seen Dr. Fields one time but think she is an excellent, knowledgeable, & kind doctor. Did not feel rushed at all.

I don't usually write reviews, but I was amazed at the low ratings (1-3*) because I think it should be a 5 star for sure (as far as the doctors and assistants are concerned) Dr. Fields is my main Doctor but I have seen Dr. Dekeratry and they are both first rate and very knowledgeable. I have been going to them for several years and my COPD has not gotten any worse and is even a little better. For an 88 year old going through the COVID masking craze that is a real accomplishment. And a great statement for their doctoring skills. Could the billing be handled a little better. Probably, but that is a third party and I am much more concerned with the doctor skills and they have that in spades.

I have seen this Dr. for many years and IM still going pretty good. am 70 yrs worn out and she has done great by me. I wont go anywhere else.....

Dr Fields is phenomenal. I have seen pulmonologist at multiple nationally ranked hospitals, and they all fall short of her. She is empathetic, genuine, and a great listener. She validated my concerns surrounding my side effects from long term prednisone. For the first time in 3 years, I have been able to go more than 3 months without a hospital visit. I attribute a large bit of that to Dr Fields being proactive and really listening to me. Can’t recommend her enough!

Yes, that is a stark and stunning title but unfortunately true. To this date she has no understanding of the damage she has done. yes she is a nice person and all of that but what difference does that make if she is incompetent? Now for facts. I came to her with what appeared to be asthma. wheezing, coughing and airway restriction. Her diagnosis was asthma and she prescribed albuterol breathers. The problem is that she ignored the fact that the breathers did not work. In fact I got worse over time. She also ignored the fact that unlike bronchial asthma, my trigger was entirely different and only happened through sexual stimulation. This is where her lack of competence comes in. after two years of suffering I began to engage other doctors who immediately suggested this was no common asthma but a condition called cardiac asthma whose characteristic mimic bronchial asthma. (go ahead, google it for yourself). in fact the origin of the problem is a weakness in the heart . The albuterol… treatments she gave me for two years WAS DETRIMENTAL TO MY HEART HEALTH AND HELPED WEAKENED MY HEART. After two years of taking the exact opposite of what I needed I started to have attack symptoms without stimulation. inability to lie down, near constant chest pain, inability to sleep. I will not enumerate the long list of miseries but the inability to lie down is not a normal asthma characteristic. My problem was due to the prone position placing additional pressure on my heart. Something she ignored. I finally went to the ER who upon listening to my complaint immediately checked my heart and discovered AFib. I was admitted and had the requisite surgery on my heart and the asthma symptoms disappeared. Had I continued to trust her judgment I would have had a heart attack or stroke by now and would not be here to write this story. There are some positive aspects of her care but they are outweighed by her inability to look past the seemingly obvious diagnosis of bronchial asthma and consider other things. Other doctors told me that cardiac asthma is basic and taught in medical school. Its the equivalent of learning ohms law for neophyte electrical engineers. SHE SHOULD HAVE KNOWN! TRUST HER JUDGMENT AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Seldom, do we find a Doctor who is truly SINCERE, compassionate, knowledgeable and truly cares about his/her patient. Dr. Fields is this Doctor. She and her husband, Dr.DeKeratry, saved my life. I continue to see both of them and I could not be in better hands. I wish more Doctors would be as caring at Dr. Fields.

Cannot schedule a sick visit - no time set aside in her calendar. Cannot book appointments.

I have copd and various lung and breathing problems since 1998. Dr fields has not only been able to treat but also diagnosed other underlying issues no other cardio pulmonary doctor had even mentioned testing for. My only regret was that our path did not cross earlier. Her professionalism and high level of geniune caring is very noticeable from the time you walk in the door til you leave. Dr fields her husband dr dekeretry her nurses and assistants are like family and my wife and i feel like old friends everytime we see them. Very rare to find all of these qualities in one specialists but cannot ever say enough good things about her. I have never written a review about anyone but glad i can because of her.

Dr. Fields is not only knowledgable but very caring. I feel completely confident under her care. I am feeling much better now and trust her judgment. I am so lucky that I met her at St. David's hospital in Georgetown when I had pneumonia. She is the best.
