Dr. Etai Funk, MD

Dr. Funk is a fantastic surgeon. If I had to do it all over again, I would choose Dr. Funk an infinite amount of times. From day 1, him and his entire staff made me feel very comfortable. The entire process of my rhinoplasty was easy and smooth. He called me the night of my surgery to check on me. I love my nose and get compliments all of the time on it.

Dr. Funk performed a cosmetic rhinoplasty with Septoplasty in 2018. He performed a very thorough consult and answered all questions I had. I was quoted just under $10,000 with insurance and ended up paying about half out of pocket. My nostrils are two different sizes, the bridge is crooked (which was not the case prior to my surgery), and I have even more problems breathing. After my surgery, he didn’t care as much and knew that I was not 100% happy. Nonetheless, he had no problem sending me out the door to be done and move on to his patient in the next room. I’m so upset at his lack of care and understanding following the surgery- especially for someone like me who has saving money and dreaming of having this surgery for many many years.

I initially consulted with Dr. Funk several years ago about having some injections and facial fillers. After seeing the results, I decided to have blepharoplasty (an eye lift) on both eyes. This was the first time I'd ever had plastic surgery, and I was pretty nervous, but Dr. Funk and his wonderful staff were very encouraging. Leah Boyle provided me with excellent information and service. She is a "cup of coffee" kind of gal. The kind of person you'd like to get into a deep conversation with. Having said that, the surgery was a great success, and a year later I had a full face lift. Again, wonderful results. I have continued to go to Dr. Funk for a number of minor cosmetic procedures. His staff is unfailingly friendly and informative and he is always delightful. He NEVER has been pushy or tried to up sale his services. I have absolute trust in him. Yesterday I had RF microneedling. Already seeing some results. I used to be cynical about cosmetic procedures and surgery, but now I am… a true believer. To look in the in the mirror and not feel despondent about my appearance has been a wonderful gift and I am very grateful.

I am in my mid 50's and was unhappy with my nose. As I grew older, it became bigger, wider, the tip dropped, and my septum deviated too.. on top of that it did not look feminine anymore... I met Dr. Funk and, to be honest, I was hesitant. Not because of him, but the surgery itself. I was not sure I should go ahead with it, even though I was breathing through one nostril only... Dr. Funk took a side picture of me and I did not like it at all (I was not aware my nose looked so bad!). I left... After the initial shock, I went back and we discussed different "noses" and how I wanted my "new" nose. He was patient, listened to me, made suggestions... The day of the surgery, I was still wondering if I wanted to go ahead with it.. Well, I did. The post-surgery is awful... and I am a tough woman... but I would do it again, if I had to, in a heartbeat!!! Thank you, Dr. Funk! You have blessed hands and an artistic eye!...no wonder why you are one of the Best Doctors! And thank you to all your… staff, always so nice and helpful. Leah, you did not lie when you said it was going to be tough.. but you also told me I was going to love it. Well, I do love my new nose!!

She is so bad at her job it's almost comical. I am sure Dr. Funk is very talented and skilled but he needs to reconsider his choice in who is has hired as a coordinator. Rude and incompetent doesn't begin to describe the experience I had with her. Really unfortunate.

I had tried to contact the Clinic through their homepage - but never heard back from them, so I decided to give them a call. I spoke with Patient Care Coordinator Leah Boyle on the phone Oct. 2018 and she acted very rude and hostile to me on the phone. I have a European accent but I am half American and I speak fluent English - but with an accent. Because of my accent she talked to me like I was a small child (I am 45) or had a low IQ - and was extremely rude and degrading in her tone - like she did not care at all about my case. I am an out-of-state patient and when she heard this, she became even more weird on the phone. She began to explain how expensive Dr. Funk is - and if I had considered if I could pay for the procedure. The thing is - yes, I CAN pay for it - even though I am not covered by insurance. I tried to send her photos to see if Dr. Funk could do revision of some scars at my face - but only one day later she emailed back "Sorry - the Dr. Funk looked at your photos and… does not feel he can help". They did not even send some suggestions for other surgeons I could perhaps contact - and just ended the email "Thanks for reaching out, good luck with your search". Wow - just wow. Don't waste your time with on this terrible Patient "Care" Coordinator - since she clearly does NOT care. I never got a chance to even get a consultation with Dr. Funk - since it was impossible because of this rude Coordinator. Thanks Leah - awesome work!

I had Mohs surgery for a basal cell above my lip. It was a very large hole and Dr. Funk did an amazing job. It was only yesterday but I removed the dressing today and it is perfection. Every part of the pre op and operative procedure was flawless. I couldn’t be more pleased. Thank you.

I had previously had rhinoplasty and sinus surgery with another physician and was extremely disappointed with the results both functionally and aesthetically. Within months I knew my previous doctor had botched the job entirely. I spent multiple years researching to find a doctor for a revision. I found Dr. Funk and I was not disappointed. He spent time with me, addressed my issues, made me feel comfortable and was very confident he could give me the result that I was looking for. He did a very thorough exam and addressed all of my issues both functionally and aesthetically explaining how each issue could be resolved. He also did digital imaging to show me what my potential result would be aesthetically considering both the functionality issues and aesthetic problems I had addressed. He does not do cookie cutter noses and uses a very personalized approach, he looks at facial proportions to create a shape that compliments your face and features. On surgery day I was a little… nervous which is of course to be expected, but after speaking with him and going over the procedure I felt reassured and confident that I had chosen the right surgeon for me. I am now a year and several months post-op and I am absolutely delighted with my results. Instead of having 10 to 12 sinus infections a year, I have had maybe 2 or 3 and I now feel a lot more confident with my nose. Dr. Funk and his staff are always available and wonderful and caring. I always enjoy my follow-up appointments and I recommend him to all of my friends an family when they ask about facial procedures. Dr. Funk helped restore my confidence and health with my revision and I cannot thank him enough. He is very meticulous and will go the extra mile. I cannot recommend him enough. I highly recommend at least having a consult with him if you are currently in the same place I was once in. I do not believe you will be disappointed.

I really like the doctor, however if I have to deal with the rudeness of his office coordinator for a year, I prefer to take my money and nose somewhere else. He needs to invest in someone who is more professional and has better people skills.

Dr. Funk is a very special man. He and his staff feel like family. He is real and caring. And a great surgeon, too!
