Dr. Etta Brener Frankel, MD

Dr Frankel seems very nice, but unfortunately I would not recommend her as a physician. She is very slow and inefficient at handling patients or explaining what’s going on or providing a clear action plan. During my visit, she took a very long time to input data into a computer (which should have already been there) and she left the medical records of other patients in the open. It’s frustrating to work with a doctor who is so cumbersome that it comes off incompetent.

Extremely competent. The best doctor I've ever had.

Knowledgeable, good bedside manner

I have been seeing Dr Frankel for about a decade. I think she is fantastic, experienced, and smart.

I have the greatest respect for Dr Frankel. Very knowledgeable, and thorough. I've been seeing her for over 25 years for routine medical, she is sensitive to your concerns and will advise you accordingly. I noticed her staff has the utmost respect and high praise for her ability.

Absolutely awful experience here. I've seen Dr. Frankel once and only once. I will not be back. Dr. Frankel was scattered, unprofessional and generally unpleasant. She speaks in a mumbling manner and is very difficult to hear/understand. She makes minimal eye contact. She was extremely rushed and did not take the time to explain to me the details of my blood work and worst of all she made a flagrant HIPPA violation by asking me if I knew one of her patients (who shares my last name). I was FLOORED! Who does that?! Suffice to say- I have already found a new PCP and I will not be back to Dr. Frankel.

During our consultation she took personal calls on her cell phone...spending 10 minutes at one point discussing a trip to Florida with a family member and lacing the conversation (in front of me) with the F-bomb. She asked me the same question over and over again - because she wasn't paying attention when I answered. And she seemed confused and distracted. This was unacceptable and I will not be returning to her; I recommend others avoid her and her office.

I chose as my PCP (for insurance purposes) based on her educational background and hospital affiliation. The first sign of her incompetence was in checking my blood pressure and immediately coming to the conclusion that I was hypertensive. There is a well-known phenomenon called White Coat Syndrome, which she clearly did not take into account. She should have rechecked my bp at the end of the exam (which she didn't). Also, she gave me a Rx for lab work, and didn't check off what needed to be done. Getting a response from her office was a nightmare.

I've Stage IV Breast-Bone cancer & look forward to her monthly softness & hearing her laugh at my raunchy jokes. She particularly likes Dr. jokes. She ensures you get timely infusions, sends you to specialists of the gender you prefer & ensures you take your meds. It's a grizzly biz but she takes the scare outta it. Wise & warm woman.

Dr. Frankel was not thorough and lazy about follow up.
