Dr. Eugene Ho Kim, DO

I had a very disappointing experience with Dr. Kim. I felt that he didn’t take my pain or injury seriously and downplayed what I was going through, simply because I wasn’t visibly showing signs of pain. Internally, however, I was in significant pain and felt that my ACL and meniscus were torn. During the examination, Dr. Kim confidently told me that I “definitely” did not have a torn ACL and that it was likely just a torn meniscus. When I requested an MRI to confirm the diagnosis, he tried to discourage me, stating that he could “get in trouble” if the MRI showed nothing. I couldn’t believe that a doctor would prioritize avoiding repercussions over a patient’s health. Had I taken his advice, I would have never known that my ACL was completely torn. It’s incredibly frustrating that someone in his position is instructing patients while being so dismissive and ultimately wrong in their judgment. This experience left me feeling unheard and neglected, and I believe Dr. Kim’s approach was… unprofessional. He seemed more concerned about his job than about my well-being. Kaiser needs to address this issue to ensure other patients don’t face the same lack of care and accountability.
