Dr. Eugene Martin Kornhaber, MD

Tues 12/2 @3:40am I will keep it short..I 1st saw Dr Kornhaber in August 2012...he completely changed my life from that day forward. It was as if he had been watching a movie of my life. Interviewed me for an hour with questions I never even thought of answering. He left the room for 10-15 min came back with a piece of paper filled with a description of who he thought I was.. I was blown away as his description of me and lifted a weight of my back I never knew I had. It answered so much and with the combination of flipping to a completely new medication and getting off the mind numbing meds. My life changed immediately.... Within a year I opened my own business, I followed my dreams and it worked. He taught me to see myself and always what I needed to hear. He's brief to the point and I respect that more than anything else. He's the type of doctor you want to improve for.... I thought of him tonight as I have been going through a rough time and when I thought of him I immediately… thought that I should see if he was still working his magic. I'm going to give him a call today and maybe get a chance to sit with him again. Best doctor I ever had. Tim O

I picked the wrong person with whom to share my bisexuality. He was judgmental from that moment on..until I dropped him.

Normally I have no problem with very effeminate men, but in this case, I felt that it was harmful to a productive therapy experience.

It was a problem for me that he was so effeminate. I'm not prejudiced in any way, but as a man, I felt uncomfortable about the way he asked about my sex life and by the way he looked at me.

I was saddened to learn that he was censured for inappropriate behavior with clients. He was always proper with me, however. I guess I just wasn't his type.

It was difficult to explore my own mental health when he himself appeared to be so morose, as though he was in a deep depression Definitely a case of a physician needing to heal himself!

A totally unsatisfactory experience with him. When I dropped him, he complained to some of my other providers, rather than keeping it between us.

He needs to get a secretary, at least while he's in session, so that he won't interrupt a session by fielding personal phone calls while you're with him. It was disturbing to learn more about his personal life while in session as he would attempt to resolve on the phone why people were discriminating against him. He seemed to have a problem with a child whom he felt was being discriminated against. It was sad in a way, but certainly not something he should have shared while with me.

He has been censured for his lothario leanings toward clients, more than his abilities in psychiatry. His offenses saw him barred from practice for two years.

Did you ever go to a therapist who casually fielded phone calls during your session? It seems to be a regular thing with him. The most effete individual I have ever encountered, bar none.
