Dr. Eugene D Mahaney, MD

I ended up being disappointed with my treatment there. After my procedure, no one talked to me or checked to see if I was alright. They just said I could go. When I had continued pain for two weeks, it took 3 phone calls to get a call-back. Then I was told the doctor was on vacation for another week. I had an appointment for July 11, a full two weeks off. I was told doctors deserve vacations too. No offer to help my severe pain. Patients deserve more concern than that. I will not go back to that office.

Don’t go to Pain Management Consultants, PL!!! Pain management got a zero in review from us yesterday. I went in Cape Coral office in tons of pain with a flare up I had. This wasn’t the first time I’ve done this and this doctor would have helped this time Danielle said my doctor Dr Eugene Maheny was not at this location and they could not fit me in with any of the other doctors there. While I stood at the counter crying in pain I over heard her say to the young lady at the counter that Shannon didn’t want to put her in. She then told the young lady at the desk that Dr Maheny was at the Fort Myers location she could try to see if he would squeeze me in. While I stood at the desk crying in pain. The young lady at the desk started to get more people in line. She got on phone she said she was trying to call no one was picking up. I start the backed up in line so I said we’ll drive over. We did! When we got there I went to find Donna who was alway so helpful she said she’ll walk me down… from second floor however she’s no longer in that department. She spoke to a lady at the desk who told her go get Brian. Who I later understood that he’s the new manager. She went got him explained what was going on with me. He came in the lobby started explaining my medical history in the lobby. When he realized that everyone in the lobby was looking and attentively listening he said to my husband and myself to come in the back let’s find private. Still crying in extreme pain. He went in a room expressing aggressively that I had an history in missing my appointments he went over my history and I needed to go to the emergency room like I was told to do at the other location so I left the room heading in the hallway going to the emergency room like he told. He walked behind us still discussing my medical history in the open. Still saying I have a history even though I was crying in pain can not comfortably walk. He forget there’s a HIPAA Law. Then he asked if I still wanted to be in this practice. Brian kept talking down to me in front of everyone as if he was taunting me even though I responded and said not now even my husband said to him sorry we are going through a lot right now. He even told it back to the lobby were he was talking still telling everyone that he was kicking me out of the practice. A male turned got up out of his wheelchair to give me his wheelchair after he heard Brian said get her of my lobby before she falls in my lobby. The man in the wheelchair turned to me and my husband and said he said she had back (referred to Brian) issues take my chair it high she can’t sit low I know because I’ve the same issues this lady is going through a lot. This was a man I’ve never seen in my life. This doctor office I’ve been going to for over 4 years. They never gave me a nurse to speak with even though they know my medical history that Brian Owens shouted out in the lobby. They never tried to help me. Brian told the lady at the desk when he realized I couldn’t walk out of the lobby as fast as he wanted me to go as he said get this woman out of my lobby before she falls in my lobby. The woman at the desk came right up in my face then said clear my desk now I’m clearing my desk area get out. Brian was still in the lobby shouting he was the manager I ran this practice leave now. I run this place. This is my practice. I was shaking my blood pressure went high up to the skies when I got to the other doctor’s office. They took my in gave me 2 shots right away. Brian Owens at Pain Management Consultant, PL placed me under more stress and a painful embarrassment in the lobby in front of everyone while I was in pain obvious pain him to say GET ME OUT OF HIS LOBBY BEFORE I FALL IN HIS LOBBY. I wouldn’t recommend this doctor’s office to any they rejected me when I needed help most. They didn’t even give me a nurse practitioner to look at me and try to help! I could have had a heart attack in his lobby.

I have a protocol for my migraines if my first line of defense does not work. Dr staff said they put in my redills. Wwnt to pharmacy, no meds. Called dr. They said he doesn t think you should use anything else w Ejovie. News to me seeing as how it was just fine for past 6 mos. Annoyed and going to dr martinez in bonita. Plus tgis office can t even get their phones to work. You r disconnected all the time.

I have been seeing Dr Mahaney for a year and he is just the best! Caring and compassionate!

Dr maheney is one of the finest doctors and I have spent about 1/6 of my life in hospitals and doctors offices.

With the number of patients that Dr Mahaney sees, there should be more up to date reviews- Dr M should take the time to answer questions by calling his patients back in a timely manner or at least answer his patients emails!! Not so quick to dish out drugs especially opioids.. don’t bandaid the pain, find the cause, less drugs the better... every drug has a side affect...

Dr. Mahaney has helped me manage my pain after I’ve been told that surgery was my only option. I have bad reactions to pain meds so the injections have been so helpful.

While waiting for my husband to receive his epidural injection for arthritic neck pain, 2 emergencies came into the office. While we understand that an emergency preempts regular appointments, no one mentioned this to us and I became concerned after 2 hours in the waiting room. Here is the problem... I approached the front desk to inquire on his condition and if there was a problem. The clerk said "I don't know". He is upstairs and you can go up there and check on him. When I went upstairs he had not been seen yet. Still no information as to why the delay. I came back down to wait and the Practice Administrator came over to as me and asked if I was waiting for someone. He is Brian. He had asked the same clerk if I was waiting for someone and she again said I don't know. So now we are informed that a person with a serious condition had come in and this was the delay. The staff asked my husband to reschedule and he refused. Dr. Mahaney also said would you reschedule. My… husband wanted his treatment rightfully so. So my point to Brian was customer service and communication was lacking in this situation. We trust Dr. Mahaney with our care, however some sensitivity training might help the staff realize that the customer comes first and she should have called up to the second floor to inquire about his status. I also observed the clerks giggling with their cell phones looking at photos while I was standing at the desk trying to inquire about my husband's condition. Finally one clerk looked over from her phone and said oh can I help you. Brian was a consummate professional explaining the prevailing events, but the bottom line is, The office staff should have been more responsive and sympathetic. Theresa

Exceptional Doctor

Dr. Mahaney remembers ever one of his patients by name, even if I do not see him and see his APRN, when I see Dr. Mahaney in the hall he always says hi to me by name. He does not judge, he listens, and provides the best care possible. He does not just write scripts and send u on your way. The only downfall but not his fault is the length of wait for an appointment. He is soo good he is over booked and it usually takes over a month to get an appointment but he is worth the wait.
