Dr. Eugene M Tenorio, MD

This was my sons first neurologist (funny I just found out he is actually a neurodevelopment pediatrition) and by far my worst experience with a Dr. yet. First he consulted with the ER doctor that diagnosed my son and advised an exceptional high dose of AED medication before he ever even met my son or me. After the first dose my son couldn't stand from loss of coordination and balance. I immediately refused to medicate my son with him. It was 18 months before my son had another seizure and then he would only suffer 1 about every 2-3 months. So After some research I chose to try acupuncture with a Chinese Dr. , whom was also a western doctor with more credentials and education than Tenorio. His response was to laugh at me and threaten to have me in court for neglect for not following his recommendations. In actuality it is him who is neglectful! He comes in the room reeking of his motivations, in his silk shirts and gold jewelry, with an arrogant attitude and absolutely no… compassion! He never once got my sons name correct nor did he speak or examine my son at our visits! After traveling to The Children's hospital in St. Louis I learned the dosage on the diastat (rectal Valium) was too high and that original doseage of medicine Tenorio was also too strong. In St.Louis my son was started on the lowest dose and moved up as needed. When he did max out on the first medicine, the same medicine Tenorio had prescribed, it was still at a lower dose than Tenorio had tried prescribing. It is important that u trust your neurologist and that they show compassion, listen to your concerns, and help educate you along the way. Tenorio has none of these qualities! I would not trust him to care for a dog I picked up off the street certainly not my child! He definitely has no business treating children!

This is not a Dr. I would recommend at all. He spent only 15 minutes with my son and then prescribed ADHD medication in a much higher dosage than what was recommended for my son's size and age. The pills sent my child into bouts of uncontrollable sobbing--to the point that he was begging me, "please help me not to feel this way". It was absolutely horrible. When I called the Dr. he recommended that we double the dosage and add Risperdal to the regimine...I refused...Now, some time later, I have pulled my child out of the school that had referred me to Dr. Tonorio, adjusted my son's diet, and took him off all medications. For the first time in probably his entire life he seems truly happy--he even has some friends since he doesn't act out due to being over medicated. If you are in a similar situation as we were, please exhaust all your options before putting your child in the care of Dr. Tonorio or other pill-pushers like him. Trust your own best judgement--you know your child better… than anyone!

* Important * Come with your questions and concerns written out, to save time. Another Dr. said that insurance companies allow 15 minutes with the patient, so keep the small talk short and be ready for the important stuff to address with him. This is my child, so I am willing to try anything, but this guy is a script writer using archaic and subjective measurements to diagnose a very serious concern to us. We should be the expert of our own child, but expect if Tenorio's incorrect dosing, or the wrong therapy altogether, occurs to evaluate what he says with a grain of salt. Parents should know their children, and if the symptoms due to medication outweigh the original reason for coming in, then be sensitive to this. My kid was a zombie due to over-diagnosis, and we are still working on the correct one, but Tenorio is of no help.

He walks in says "so he's forgetful" doesn't want to hear my experiences of raising my son for 7 years and tests we've gone through he just trys to whip out a script without even talking to me. Second child to see him and last time we visit. He's rude, inconsiderate, and bedside manner isn't even there he has zero! RUDE MAN!!!

Too bad there isn't a way to give a negative score for many of the questions he would get a -4
