Dr. Eugenia Steingold, PhD

Our young son was in crisis. His stress and anxiety was beyond what any child should experience. We were instructed to bring him to be treated at the psyche department of the nearest emergency room. This did NOT feel right for a child so young. We felt that most likely he would've been placed on medication. We needed to find a doctor who could treat his mental illness without medication (at this young age) and without being admitted to a hospital. After much research online, and after reading her blog and website, we knew we finally found the right doctor. Dr. Eugenia Steingold is an exceptional, extraordinary, empathetic psychologist who puts everyone at ease. Within a few visits, my son was feeling better. One of the best aspects about Dr. Steingold, aside from being an extensively trained and experienced psychologist, is that she is creative in the way she treats her patients. Each week she gave us new strategies to use for different problems. And they all… worked on my son. Each week, we saw progress. She is multi-faceted in her practice and her approach to wellness by using many methods, such as EFT, Cognitive Behavior Therapy and EMDR. We thought her approach wellness was holistic and effective. We also found her blog where she gives her expert advice and downloaded her APP called Calm Child Meditation. Our son has improved dramatically since receiving treatment from Dr. Steingold. We highly recommend her for any child experiencing mental illness, especially anxiety, ADD, ADHD, and Autism. For us finding Dr. Steingold was like finding a needle in a haystack.

I would highly recommend Dr. Steingold. She is great to talk to and is very supportive. She really makes you feel like someone is there to listen and is behind you to help you work things through and make the best decision for yourself. I would highly recommend her.

Twice I have used professional services of Dr. Eugenia Steingold for my son and both times her professionalism, deep insights and prescribed therapeutical exercises have helped my son immensely. First time Dr. Eugenia Steingold was able to completely cure my 8 year old from recurring nightmares and nightly panic attacks, from which he suffered for several years before that. Doctor prescribed my son set of simple, yet very effective exercises, which he performed every night before bed. After several weeks of those exercises, nightmares and nightly panic attacks have disappeared completely. Most recently doctor was able to reverse my son's depression and provide my son with easy to use tools to help him deal with his depressive moods and troubles at school. I highly recommend Dr. Eugenia Steingold - she is one of the most capable and gifted psychotherapists I have ever encountered in my life. Her ability to work with children of any ages is a true gift.

Dr. Steingold is a very talented and caring treatment provider. She helped me with a number of issues and thinks out side the box to suggest many possible solutions to your problems. Dr. Steingold listens very keenly and is a valuable partner in treatment. She is also knowledgeable about medications. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her.

When something is wrong with you, I guess the first and the most important thing is finding someone who understands you and what's wrong - without it you cannot even start getting better. But it is even more crucial when something is wrong with your child, and no one seems to understand. Dr. Steingold saw my child three times for a full evaluation. The kid, first reluctant to go or to cooperate, was asking to see the doctor again after the very first visit. Dr. Steingold was able to make my child comfortable, curious and attentive through the first half of our first visit. And while in the beginning my kid was hesitant and mistaking, once felt confident, started showing the results way above the age norm. Not only did Dr. Steingold promptly produce a report with diagnosis and detailed recommendations, but also went through a very detailed plan of the treatment, refraining from drugging our kid right away. And now the child and us feel a great relief, know exactly what to do,… and are motivated to win over and leave behind what very recently seemed like an insurmountable monster on the way. Would return and highly recommend.

Dr Steingold was very accommodating in the schedule, attentive to my child and thorough in her recommendations and follow up. She sincerely cared about our situation and my questions. Very good experience!

She kept booking me for appointments I never made! Then she also accused me of not paying for copayments that I paid her for in full. When I tried to confront her about setting up appointments that I never agreed on, she avoided talking to me and never got back to me. After, I warned her that if she continues to text that I have to come for times that I never scheduled, I would report her. Then she spammed my phone and subscribed me to different job offers and telemarketers!!!! She is busy with her phone when I come in and texts during my session. Her phone is on sound and very disruptive. She acts like she’s doing me a favor... but I’m paying her for the therapy.

I tried 3 other therapists after working with Dr. Steingold (because her practice moved to another neighborhood). She is the best by far. Dr. Steingold is so much more effective than the others that I am willing to take a 1.5hr subway ride just to to see her, again. She is empathic, attentive, and very effective. It is not like the other therapists were bad, they were just less effective in pointing out the areas I need to focus on. With Dr. Steingold, I have made progress that is not only noticeable to me but has been pointed out by my friends and colleagues. I highly recommend her. I wished more therapists were like her.

Very helpful and professional.

She triple booked us with 2 other patients and when it was finally our turn to go in, had the decency to ask if we MIND to wait another 20 minutes because the other patients were with children. I took one good look at her and walked out. Took a day off from work to make this appointment, came on time and then was asked to go back to the waiting area? She wasn't even on time when I arrived! I understand sometimes you have to wait, but you can't possibly ask a patient to switch their scheduled session with someone else out of her convenience. Not nearly the experience I was hoping to get from my first therapy session. PS very little confidentially in this office, we heard the previous patients entire conversation..very unprofessional setting and doctor.
