Dr. Evadne Grace Marcolini, MD

I went to Yale New Haven Hospital's ER (back when Evadne Marcolini worked there) in November 2017 with severe shortness of breath, a clear symptom of heart failure. I was diagnosed with pneumonia, based off the results of a chest X-ray. But unfortunately, the medical provider who saw me, Evadne Marcolini, assumed that the pneumonia was the full cause (despite symptoms of heart failure) and didn't check for cardiac issues. This delayed my heart condition from being discovered, yet I was admitted so Yale could observe the pneumonia. A few days later, when I was diagnosed with heart failure, one of the doctors told me that "a mistake has been made" and that my condition was overlooked. That doctor told me that if an EKG was ordered in the ER, my heart condition would have been diagnosed and treated that day, rather than a few days later. I gave my medical records to a lawyer, and he had other doctors review them. They agreed that Evadne Marcolini messed up. The doctors (who my lawyer… consulted with) didn't dispute that I also had pneumonia but pointed out that Evadne Marcolini shouldn't have ruled out cardiac issues just because I had pneumonia. According to them, even though ordering an EKG wouldn't have necessarily shown heart failure, would have shown that I had heart damage.... which would have led to them checking for heart failure.
