In 2023, he received his Master of Business Administration from Columbia Business School.Dr. Garfein’s research focuses on disparities in …breast reconstruction rates and advanced radiographic planning for the design of free and perforator flaps. In 2010, he authored a New York State law requiring hospitals to inform breast cancer patients of breast reconstruction options after mastectomy. This bill has served as a model for dozens of similar bills throughout the United States.Dr. Garfein is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
