I don’t normally give reviews but I have to give miss Evelyn a review this is a very wonderful person and the best doctor I have came across she is very very nice and understanding you will definitely feel excellent when leaving her office

After leaving 3 voice mails, no call back. If Dr. Howanitz is not practicing, they should inform the insurance companies. I'm trying to find a psychiatrist for my son. No response. Today the phone rang & rang & rang. Pretty sad. It's not like we want plastic surgery, my son needs a psychiatrist.

Receptionist is ATROCIOUS. She never returns your phone call. EVER. Messages are ignored. Phone calls are never returned. It is literally IMPOSSIBLE to book an appointment. She also took full payment on my first appointment even though Dr. Howanitz was IN NETWORK, which I discovered on my own and then had to reach out her repeatedly for reimbursement. The woman needs to GO. She singlehandedly makes being a patient of Dr. Howanitz a horrific experience.

This doctor and her office staff is horrendous. Please, please stay away. I needed to reschedule an appointment- I called and left several messages to reschedule, receptionist would return my call after a few days with an appointment time slot, I promptly called and left a message to confirm that I will be there. I show up, and the doctor refused to see me!!! Refused!! Receptionist stated that I needed to speak to her directly to confirm an appointment. How can I do that if she never, answers the phone! By this time, I was out of meds and told her if I could at least get some medication to last me until my next appointment. She spoke to the doctor and the doc told her to tell me that my folder is closed and is not taking anymore clients. She flat out left me to go cold turkey and did not have one ounce of compassion. True professional neglect. Just out for the money.

I never write reviews but after todays near appt. I felt very much so compelled to do so. I had a appt today, Feb. 28th and 9:15am. Admittedly, I was two minutes late in arriving. When I went up to the office, or what I thought was since my insurance company listed it at suite 308, the door was locked. This was at 9:17 am. I proceeded to call the office. I was first put on hold for 5 mins. Then I hung up and called three more times. It just kept ringing repeatedly, I finally called back a forth time, (now its 9:27am) and someone picked up. They almost immediately said Melissa? I said yes. Is 280 North Central Ave your address, they said yes. I asked if the suite number, 308, was the correct suite number. She said no, its 310 but you missed your appt. Now, prior to my appt I spoke to this women three times to confirm my appt. Not one of those times did she correct the suite number. In the middle of the call I walked to the correct suite and was greeted by a very rude women who just… kept saying I missed my appt. I said I realize this, but its noted on the website to be a different suite and I was on time and called numerous times trying to reach someone. She said I am aware of the web site you dont have to tell me this, but you missed your appt and we will call you. No apology, no acknowledgment of the misunderstanding,, nothing. When I asked her if she knew about the error on the site why did she not tell me the numerous times I spoke to her so I would know,,, she just kept repeating we will call you and seemed very annoyed. I have never been so upset and treated so badly in a doctors office before. I just walked out and then later called and told her to not bother herself with calling me and I would be reporting her office and writing a review. I have not met the doctor at this site, but if her receptionist is this rude I do not have high hopes for the doctor herself. I was so disappointed.

Literally got laughed at by Dr. How Howanitz's receptionist when I asked for an appt as a new patient. Granted it is the holiday season but the woman was unprofessional, uncaring, unaccommodating and totally arrogrant. If I wanted that kind of treatment I would go down to the Bronx. Will never use this doctor based off the poor staff experiemce.

She lacks the proper bed side manners to address the needs of her patients. Emergency appointments are hard to come by and if you miss appointments do to personal scheduling, she cuts off giving you the support or service you need. She is all about medicine, not therapy.Ten minute sessions are all you get. If you are low on prescriptions, she refuses to give you one, or call it in to a pharmacy. You can run out of medication before being able to schedule an emergency appointment.

Dr. Howanitz miss diagnosed my mother and put her at considerable risk given the medications she put her on.She was unable to correctly treat my mother and also did not aid in the process to have my mother on the correct medications.

If you are looking for an accurate diagnosis or any helpful psychological advice, go somewhere else. I have another therapist and go to Dr. Howanitz simply to refill my prescriptions.

I was visiting her office in the Bronx. She is always late, sometimes I had to wait even an hour! It was really annoying. English is not my native language so we had some misunderstanding that she treated as me misleading her. Ridiculous... In addition there was a huge problem with getting copy of medical records. After all I gave up.It is impossible to reach her. She never return my calls when I was asking about copy of my medical records, although I have to admit she did call me back when I had problem with my medication. Overall nothing I can recommend...
