Dr. Eyako Wurapa, MPH, MTM, MPM, MD

Dr. Kofi Wurapa, MD is a highly skilled physician known for both his clinical competence and deep compassion for others. Practicing at Primary Coastal Care, he provides telehealth and in-person appointments in the Nottingham, MD area. As Medical Director, Dr. Wurapa is committed to delivering reliable, compassionate care that is easy to access and easy to understand. He and the team take time to listen, offer clear next steps, and follow through—whether a patient needs a same-day sick visit, preventive care, or long-term support managing a chronic condition.

Born to parents from Ghana, West Africa, and raised in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Dr. Wurapa developed an early commitment to service that shaped his career in medicine. He earned his medical degree from Penn State College of Medicine and is residency-trained and board-certified in Family Medicine as well as Preventive and Occupational Medicine. He also holds a Master of Public Health and a Master’s degree in Tropical Medicine, …bringing a broad and well-rounded perspective to primary care, public health, and preventive medicine.

During his distinguished 23-year Army career, Dr. Wurapa served as a Flight Surgeon with the 101st Airborne Division, a Battalion Surgeon with the 3rd Special Forces Group and the 95th Civil Affairs Brigade at Fort Bragg, and later as Director of the Global Emerging Infections Surveillance program in Kenya. Following his military retirement, he continued caring for patients with MedStar, Kaiser Permanente, and Patient First, earned a Master’s degree in Project Management from the University of Maryland, and taught Anatomy and Physiology as an Adjunct Professor at Bowie State University. Today, he brings that same leadership, experience, and compassion to Primary Coastal Care, where the goal is to earn patients’ trust and serve as a consistent primary care home for the whole family.
