He earned his medical degree from Penn State College of Medicine and is residency-trained and board-certified in Family Medicine as well as Preventive and Occupational Medicine. He also holds a Master of Public Health and a Master’s degree in Tropical Medicine, …bringing a broad and well-rounded perspective to primary care, public health, and preventive medicine.
During his distinguished 23-year Army career, Dr. Wurapa served as a Flight Surgeon with the 101st Airborne Division, a Battalion Surgeon with the 3rd Special Forces Group and the 95th Civil Affairs Brigade at Fort Bragg, and later as Director of the Global Emerging Infections Surveillance program in Kenya. Following his military retirement, he continued caring for patients with MedStar, Kaiser Permanente, and Patient First, earned a Master’s degree in Project Management from the University of Maryland, and taught Anatomy and Physiology as an Adjunct Professor at Bowie State University. Today, he brings that same leadership, experience, and compassion to Primary Coastal Care, where the goal is to earn patients’ trust and serve as a consistent primary care home for the whole family.
