ZERO STARS!!! 2 Heart Attacks last week suddenly, was referred to this practise from the hospital. Started calling at 8am - 3 ppl and 60 min later finally was able to get an appt for Friday of the same week. Fast forward 6 hours and someone calls to say they need to move my appt back 4 hours and was that ok. I said yes, but forgot the detail and when I tried to call back....2 more hours- 3 people and no one knows me anymore. No one has ever heard of me. Now that they have my insurance and personal details - now I am a no body and don't have an appointment. My blood pressure is elevated 15 more points over the last 2 hours - just from the unnecessary drama that this whole experience has caused. If we can't get a simple appointment scheduled - what is the actual cardiology care going to be like. Seems like I'll never know.....

Today I visited with Dr. Atassi to ask him to clarify something for me as I was confused. Sixteen months ago he ordered an angiogram for me and gave me the results at a follow-up appt at his office. He spent approximately 45-60 seconds at that appt and told me I had a 40% blockage but that my heart was fine. Take a baby aspirin was all he said. This 40% blockage scared me a bit but I trusted him when he said I was fine and just take a baby aspirin. I assumed that as we age (I was 57 at that time) we all must develop these blockages. Last month I had my annual physical with my general practitioner and this blockage was discussed. She knew nothing about it and thought I needed to go on a statin drug, but I felt if my cardiologist didn't tell me to go on this drug, I probably didn't need it. She told me she wanted to confer with Dr. Atassi and discuss this, which she did do and they both agreed that I should be on a statin. I called Dr. Atassi's office and explained that I was… hoping I could talk to him. I received a call back from one of his staff stating that "he was recommending I go on a statin". I already knew this, but wanted to understand more. I made an appt with him so I could discuss this. He walked in and said his opinion hasn't changed since I called his office or since my doctor called him. He was strongly recommending that I take a statin and a baby aspirin and that was not going to change no matter what I told him. I was very respectful and said that I was confused about why I need to do this NOW. What has changed? I realized very quickly that nothing had changed, he felt all along that I should be taking a statin, but he neglected to tell ME! I asked him why he didn't tell me that 16 months ago when he was giving me my results and he said I was sedated and that I just didn't remember. I WAS sedated for the procedure but I WASN'T sedated a couple of weeks later sitting in his office waiting for my results. Clearly, he made a mistake and FORGOT to recommend a statin to me. Instead of owning that or even bothering to look back at his notes, he told me it would be best if I got another cardiologist OUT OF TOWN! The arrogance of this man. He makes a mistake but I am told it would be best if I go to another cardiologist and he would be happy to transfer my medical records.

He is completely unprofessional and spends about 3 minutes in the room with you and you spend 3 hours in the waiting room to see him.

Dr. Fadi Atassi has the greatest interpersonal skills that I have ever experienced in my 78 years. Taking time to talk to you NOT at you. Thank you Dr Atassi!
