Dr. Fadi Fuad Haddad, MD

From my first consultation, when he refused to let my father exit the room while he inspected a sensitive area that would need to be operated on to well after my last appointment with him when I found that he had neglected to remove a surgical staple and my body had begun to swell and heal around it (causing, of course, a great deal of pain), Dr. Haddad was a thoroughly miserable surgeon in basic responsibilities and casual bedside manner. The latter is the norm for surgeons and Dr. Haddad is no worse than the average out-of-touch weirdo surgeon who can’t help but make distasteful remarks about other patients’ body shapes and sizes to someone to whom that doesn’t matter at all. But the former was consistently a source of stress and discomfort, both emotional and eventually physical, during an already upsetting time as I learned unexpectedly that I would need a minor surgery for which the recovery would be difficult and restrictive. That recovery became only more painful when, after the… surgery and two follow-up appointments (during which he assured me that the wound was a-okay and would finish healing on its own without further care from him) and nearly two entire months of post-op healing, I discovered on my own that he had failed to remove a very obviously positioned surgical staple. I had since moved away from the city where the surgery was performed (at his approval) and neither he nor his office provided any consolation or guidance as to a) how this could happen, b) how and when and where to get it removed and c) how to ensure that the staple would not be disruptive to the healing process. To anyone with any choice at all, I cannot overstate how strongly I would avoid seeking care from Dr. Haddad.

VExcellent Dr. and really pleasant until afterwards. Doesn't like to do follow-ups. Very rude and says there's nothing he can do. Seems like to me he gets his money for surgery then is done with you. Unreal, now seeing a Dr. that says he is sooo wrong. so sad to treat a patient that way.

He's wonderful. In the office & hospital & outside his work areas. He always talks to you. He has to have a heart of gold!

Dr Haddad has a great personality. He is a great Surgeon and very well liked.

Dr. Haddad delayed my lumpectomy for over 4 hours because he decided to assist with another surgery. By the time he got to operating on me the radioactive dye that I had to be injected with had dissipated so that he was unable to really know where the most proximal nodes were located. To top that it was so late by the time he finished, he was unable to locate the pathologist right away so decided that he would just cut more tissue out which meant that he had to cut into the muscle of my chest wall. What he did was definitely not hospital procedure. Pathologists don't just leave and go home like he said. What he did was unconscionable, he decided that my body didn't matter that he could just cut more without checking and then didn't even think that that was a problem. I would not trust this man to do any surgeries. When sitting at my oncologists office waiting for my 1st chemo treatment I talked to a woman who had had her port put in by him. He put it in crooked and she had problems… every time the port had to be accessed. It makes me angry and worried that he is the surgeon that most Bloomington physicians recommend because he has oncology training. If you are considering having surgery by him, don't do it. Go to Indy or Martinsville or somewhere else.

We are so fortunate that Dr. Hadad was on call when my daughter had to have her appendix removed. He had great bedside manner and moved another surgery to get her appendix out! He came in and talked to my extremely nervous 7 year old about her French class and American Girl dolls and put her at ease right before her surgery.
