Dr. Faisal Ahmad Munasifi, MD

Dr. Munasifi has truly saved my life on more than one occasion. He listens, and he cares. He's worked with me on my clinical depression and panic/anxiety disorder for years, and the combination of meds I'm on works really well for me. Most of the time, now that my meds are ironed out, I only need to see him every 6 months for a brief med check. But even then, he really wants to know how I'm doing and what I'm experiencing. No other psychiatrist I've ever seen has taken the time to listen to me and to ask probing questions like Dr. Munasifi has. And he has such a marvelous sense of humor, which is an enormous help. I highly recommend him. I don't think you'll ever find a psychiatrist as terrific, as humane, as caring, as concerned, and as knowledgeable as Dr. Munasifi.

I really appreciate that even though I am much younger and less educated than he is that he still respects me. There is something about the way he asks questions and then actually listens to me that is different than any other psychiatrist I have been to. Doctors can be so intimidating, yet he has humility. That is a rare breed of psychiatrist and I have seen many. I hope he will remain my psychiatrist for a very long time.

A life saver

Most amazing dr. I have found! 1st doctor of his kind that made a plan for me to get better, not just prescribe meds. He truly cares & keeps you safe by dealing with one issue at a time. No other doctor has ever been anywhere NEAR this smart, as Munasifi is! Go! You will only get better!

Could not take the time needed for accurate diagnosis. Big difference in treatment between bp1 and bp2 as it relates to antidepressants.

I have been seeing Dr. Munasafi for over 3 years to address anxiety, depression & memory problems. He is compassionate & through and actually listens & works with you. Not a pill pusher like other Psychs. Even when I changed jobs & did not have insurance coverage for visits, I paid out of pocket because it is worth it. You will find no better Psychiatrist in Tallahassee.

This Dr came highly recommended, however when I contacted his office I was told by Amber that the Docter was not taking new patients. When I asked for a curtesy referral or suggestion to another doctor who is accepting new patients, Amber was rude and said they "usually don't do that". So much for helping out someone in need.

Though a self-proclaimed expert on bipolar disorder, Munasifi mis-diagnosed my PTSD as bipolar disorder. Gold star! Then he put me on a very high dosage of a benzodiazepine (those drugs are very, very bad). When I began to experience severe anxiety, insomnia, & suicidal ideation from this high dosage, Munasifi dismissively said that benzodiazepines don't have those effects on people. WRONG. They are in fact well documented causes of anxiety, insomnia, & suicidal ideation. To put icing on the cake, he ordered that I stop taking the benzos cold turkey. I became psychotic & nearly had to be hospitalized. He had no clue as to what was going on with me. I did: benzos. This man is appallingly ignorant (as is, sadly, most of the medical community) about the effects of benzos on people. I wouldn't recommend him as a doctor for my goldfish.

Always easy to get an "emergency" appointment. Very caring and interested. Staff is very efficient and helpful. He is the one who finally got my medications working right, and is just a phone call away. I would highly recommend this Doctor to anyone with phsyciatric issues.

I've been treated for many years by Dr. M and am very pleased. I have never switched nor do I plan to as long as I live in the area. He has answered my questions and been very responsive in terms of adjusting meds and dosages as needed.
