Dr. Fakhra Imtiaz Khalid

Two years ago, Dr. Khalid was my delivering OB when my own obstetrician was unavailable. She recommended and performed a C-section. During the delivery, I experienced a severe hemorrhage and nearly lost my life due to excessive bleeding. Since the surgery, I have had persistent pain at the incision site. My menstrual periods have been extremely light, but no one informed me of the possible long-term consequences or potential damage to my uterus from the procedure. Recently, as I began trying to conceive again, I underwent a thorough examination and was diagnosed with severe Asherman’s syndrome—extensive intrauterine scarring. I was told that it is very likely I will not be able to conceive or carry a pregnancy in the future. I am devastated. I believe this complication could have been prevented or at least identified and treated earlier if I had been properly informed and monitored after the C-section.
