Dr. Farhad John Hajaliloo, MD

I was hospitalized four days at Long Beach Memorial for a torn hip flexor . The staff at the hospital set up an appointment with this doctor and he informed us that I should call his office for an appointment for a steroid injection in the pelvis. I called him over the next four days and only got an answering machine. Finally on the fourth day at last a receptionist answered the phone. She told me that even though the doctor had agreed to treat me that I needed a different level of care. Basically he just didn’t want to administer the injection. So he kept me waiting in excruciating pain and didn’t feel my care was worth his time even to notify me. Even after the physician at the hospital informed him of the horrific pain I was suffering. He let me to endure the pain when I could have made an appointment elsewhere. I wouldn’t recommend this person to treat anyone you care for. Callous and indifferent, a disgrace to his profession

The condemn the system that allows this man to still see patients.

Dr. Haj has been seeing my kids for years for various athletic injuries. They like him a lot. He has performed knee surgery on both of them. Visits before surgery and surgery all went great. Initial post-op visits were also helpful. Later visits (6 months post) were not very helpful in guiding the rehab or checking success of the surgery.

Excellent physician and surgeon. Haj performed surgery on both of my shoulders over a period of five years. A great job and made my life much more productive. He also performed arthroscopy on my right knee (meniscus tear). I was in and out, as with both shoulders, a few hours later and was my old self in a matter of days. A friendly, honest guy and a solid office staff.

Dr. Hajaliloo was pleasant in person but I had a hard time getting to see him while in the hospital. I aske to see him over 6 times and he came only after a phone call was made to our insurane to get a new referral. The responses staff kept telling us was that he didn't feel a need to come see or talk to us because he already saw the xrays. Unfortunetely this made him untrust worthy and we eneded up with a different specialist just to be sure Dr. H was accurate with his diagnosis. i am jealous I didn't get the service this web site claims he gives:(

I can't disagree more from the last reviewer! Sounds like they were upset they didn't get their Oxycontin or other pain medication. Dr. Haj always takes the time to explain what the problem is without making us feel rushed. What I admire about him is that he does not jump into doing surgery if you don't need it. He is very conservative and treats my family as if we are his family. I don't know which planet the last reviewer is from but I felt compelled to tell everyone about how wonderful Dr. Haj and his office is!

I don't know where Dr. Hajaliloo got his M.D., but he definitely has a Ph.D. in scam artistry. I don't have health insurance, and I needed to get my collarbone fracture looked at about a week after the night of my injury to see if it was setting okay. All I needed was an x-ray and maybe a prescription refill, because I was downing Vicodin like crazy to dampen the excruciating, agonizing pain.The first sign of Dr. Hajaliloo's scam artistry was the fee. He wanted $250(!) BEFORE examining me, BEFORE knowing what I needed from him, even BEFORE learning what my injury was. The second, and more egregious, sign was the lack of an x-ray machine at his clinic. For $250, he told me that he couldn't tell me anything about my fracture without an x-ray and that I needed to go to another location (when I was in seeing-stars pain from taking three steps, let alone sitting in a vibrating car) to get x-rayed elsewhere at my own expense. I understand that x-ray machines might be expensive, but HOW DOES… AN ORTHOPEDIST NOT HAVE AN X-RAY MACHINE? If your job is to look at bones, how do you do that without an x-ray machine in your clinic? So during the FIVE-MINUTE CONSULTATION for which he charged me $250(!) -- because this man has to gall to charge his patients $50/minute -- he told me NOTHING about my injury and added insult to my injury by instructing me to get the x-ray elsewhere and come back next week for the x-ray results in another five-minute visit, for which he would've charged me ANOTHER $250. He then left before I could ask him about the prescription refill. I told a nurse that I'd like to see the doctor again because I didn't get to ask all of my questions and I wanted to offer the doctor some constructive criticism regarding his brusque bedside manner. The nurse came back five minutes later to say that the doctor refused to see me again. Needless to say, I never returned. I had a MUCH better experience at Dr. Philip Sobol's clinic in Westchester. It was admittedly a lot more crowded than Dr. Hajaliloo's office, but they had several doctors in attendance, all of whom had impeccable bedside manners, and more importantly, an x-ray machine in the clinic. It also cost $170 (NOT $250) for a thirty-minute visit, and they only charged me AFTER my consultation, based on what I needed from them -- an x-ray reading, a nerve damage test, a new shoulder sling; my x-ray cost extra ($55). I can't recommend the doctors at Dr. Sobol's clinic enough, and I can't recommend Dr. Hajaliloo less.

He did an emergency surgery on my daughter's elbow and the surgery as well as recovery went well. He was a pleasure to deal with.

Dr. Hajaliloo is such a courteous and caring doctor. Two years ago I had a broken elbow and when I came in to see him another 7-8yr old boy was also there with a broken elbow. Dr. Hajaliloo helped us both in different but equally professional yet extremely pleasant manner. It was amazing to see him switch his manner of explaining between me (an adult) and the little boy....(we were having our casts put on at the same time). About 6 weeks later when I went back to have the cast removed, the little boy was there too...again Dr. Hajaliloo was amazing. His staff was also extremely courteous and efficient, I didn't have to wait long before being helped and his office was extremly nice, clean and organized. I was just diagnosed with a problematic hip and I thought about him. He has a new office in Long Beach and I've heard great things about the aesthetics of the office and his new office manager. Too bad my insurance/general MD will not allow me to go back to him, but everyone else who can… should go and see him, he's simply amazing!
