Dr. Farhad Sohrab Irani, MD

I've been a patient of Dr. Irani since September 1999; he's my primary physician and with every medical emergency I've had, (and I've literally been through the hospital-mill) he has either taken care of the problem, or referred me to a qualified doctor to handle the specific issue. When I joined this practice about five years ago, I was told upfront that he tends to run late and that I could call and ask an hour or so ahead of my scheduled time to see how things were going and to adjust my arrival time without penalty. I don’t plan my appointment day too tightly. I realize that not everyone has the luxury of being so flexible. The upside is that I know that when my turn comes, I will have the time I need. Dr. Iraní works late, and usually is available for same day walk ins if you are sick - though you should call. I have found him to be thorough and caring, and the same for his staff. Others who I have referred to him were as happy.

An 1.5 hour wait is normal to see Dr Irani with an appointment. Today, his very rude receptionist not only didn't apologize about their extremely long wait times when I mentioned it, but informed me that another patient just had a 4 hour wait so my recent 1.45 hour wait was not bad. In addition to the long wait, the last appointment I had with Dr Irani, he did not remember one thing about why I was there, my medical history, or who even ordered my recent blood test (which he ordered). He was extremely disorganized and forgetful. Eventually, he found my test results which I told him he had in my folder. When you check in for an appointment, they never tell you they are running late. They just expect you to wait 2 hours for a 2 minute discussion about test results that could have been done by phone (except that they don't get to charge my insurance company for an additional office visit). Clearly, they are more concerned with booking as many people as they can to make the most amount of… money and do not respect other peoples time.

This doctor comes highly recommended but waiting for well over two hours to see him , and told by patients (and reviews) this is typical. I value my time as well. I wonder how long I'd have to wait if it was an emergency! I won't take the chance.

Love this doc and his practice. He is very kind, very patient and gets to the bottom of what is going on without much fanfare. His nurse is really great too. Yes, they tend to run a little late seeing patients because he has such a busy practice as well as urgent care services. I can wait.

In 50 years, the best Dr. I have ever been with. He cares, explores, and advises.

Dr. Irani is one of the better doctors I have ever seen, especially in Naples. He is thorough, efficient, and caring. He is willing to go the extra mile to find problems and execute plans for a cure, if possible.

Quality care is worth the wait.

My overall impression of Dr. Irani's practice was disappointing. Making an appointment with the doctor was not an easy process in that I was told I needed to fill out some sort of application to see if I would be a good "fit" with doctor. Not a problem although I thought it was odd, but I was willing to comply with their request. It took a few days before I was given an appointment, I arrived 5 minutes before my appointment, and shortly afterward was in an examination room where I waited another 55 minutes. I left after a total of 65 minutes waiting for the doctor. The front desk told me they were sorry I waited so long but the doctor had an emergency. Ok, so I'm wondering why a staff member didn't tell me. I was in an examination room waiting, and no one bothered to tell me what the delay might be. I will not be making another appointment with this doctor.
