Dr. Farhana Jan, MD

I have been a patient of Dr. Jan’s for many years and I probably should’ve written this review a long time ago. She is an amazing doctor and totally up-to-date with the most recent treatments and with everything related to my care and battle with psoriasis. She is very personable and at the same time efficient and thorough and I feel very lucky to be a patient of hers. I have referred members of my own family and close friends to her as well and they have all been very pleased with her care.

I have seen Dr Jan a couple of times for my acne problem. She has hasn't been able to treat my acne for almost half a year and my acne is mild. She has been hard to reach, doesn't advise follow up appointments and makes mistakes with dosage. I have been struggling with the simplest of dermatological problems a person can have and she has made me feel like its an impossible problem to treat. It is acne...! I have to also warn you that she has bad bedside manners.

I found Dr. Jan highly informative as to procedure to remove wart on my left upper cheek. Very cordial and professional. I am very happy with my experience and results. Would highly recommend her and her team.

I waited three months to see her, first she walked in 30 mins late. Rushed through the appt. interrupted me when I asked questions. And when the medication she prescribed was not covered by insurrance she wanted to call in another so I gave her the go ahead. Called both her offices numerous times a week with not response for two weeks. At which point she left me a voicemail with another patients information and care! Then calls back leaves another voicemail saying she thinks she gave me the wrong care info...proceeds to tell me she “thinks” I don’t take any medications that interfere with the new one. But will need blood testing done throughout. Again I ask how often do I need blood work. She never answers me until 4 weeks later that blood work should be 5 days after the first dose. (I’ve had the prescription for four weeks and have not felt comfortable in taking it reading all the warnings about this medication online and all the interactions it has with not just prescriptions but… with OTC meds like Advil. Which she would have in my history that I take Advil often for migraines, I’m done with this doctor She is horrible and unsafe practice.

This woman flies into the exam room and flies out before you have a chance to ask a single question. If I did get one in, her answer was imperfect, rudely delivered, and rudimentary. I did not feel respected and treated with the same dignity I generously afforded her. I did not find even her first exam through. A dermatologist can be hard to schedule, but I am done with this doctor. She has consistently been less that mindfully present. I did find another female dermatologist and this doctor is just as busy, but she was generous with her time and even encouraged me to follow-up as I needed and wished (including via email). I am so glad that I did not allow for unprofessional rudeness with one of my medical providers.

Accurate diagnosis, highly effective treatment, follow up as promised. Professional, pleasant and personable. Have recommended Dr. Jan and will continue to do so.

Dr Jan is amazing!

Dr Jan is one of the most competent and friendly doctors I've encountered, not only in dermatology. She works efficiently, but with care and gentle treatment. She answered all my questions with patience and detailed information. She followed up with a phone call and letter. My wife also had a very good experience. I recommend her without reservation.

Contrary to other people, I had a good experience with Dr. Jan. She listened to my description of my situation, took my concerns seriously and explained things well to me. She seemed to be thorough and careful. I would recommend her.
