Dr. Farhat Nasreen Kokan, MD

Dr. Kokan was extremely dismissive of my concerns and she talked down to me my entire appointment. I was made to feel like I was dense for asking questions. It felt like I was being pushed out the door. I don’t know if it’s because I’m young, but she was not willing to listen to me or take me seriously. She ignored my history of reactive airways I told her about at this appointment and multiple times before. She also told me during a prior appointment that the closest clinics to where I live (for my allergy shots) were Bloomington or Apple Valley. During this appointment, she acted as if I was crazy for not getting my allergy shots at the Chaska clinic. I will continue to receive my shots elsewhere because I am unimpressed with Dr. Kokan’s care. However her nurse, Barb is very nice and attentive.

I had an extremely disappointing experience with Dr. Kokan. From the start, she failed to provide critical information about the celiac test, neglecting to mention that it requires a gluten-containing diet to be accurate—something I haven't had in over 10 years. She also shamed me for not following up on a referral from six years ago, disregarding the fact that this was right before my husband's passing. When she asked how he died, she physically recoiled and revoked her sympathy upon learning it was due to liver failure—an incredibly inappropriate and unprofessional reaction. Despite my efforts to approach the appointment with humility and clarify that a potential diagnosis had been suggested by a family member (not something I self-diagnosed), she still accused me of being fixated on specific tests. Ironically, when she said she didn’t think I needed them, I immediately agreed—but instead of moving on, she continued to argue against testing I had already accepted not pursuing. She… did not listen to my medical history, made me repeat symptoms multiple times, and asked very few questions, leaving me to carry the conversation. The entire appointment left me feeling humiliated, dismissed, and reduced to tears. I would not recommend Dr. Kokan to anyone seeking a compassionate or thorough specialist.

Doctor came in slumped unprofessionally in the chair and started to argue with my daughter before even listening to my daughter. She acted in a unprofessional and uncompassionate manor. She made my daughter cry during the appointment and did not even acknowledge that she was upset. She just wanted her agenda of costly test and setting it up so that she can see my daughter again. She did not answer any of my questions. She refused to discuss the negative results that prove her agenda wrong, but instead accused me of not bringing my daughter to a doctor in years and insisting on treating her so she would come back even though the results were negative. She treated my daughter for something we did not even come to see her about and ignored why we came and seen her in the first place. It is obvious that she did not read the medical history of my daughter before she came in or she would have realized that she sees our family doctor yearly and a neurologist yearly. Her medical… health is over seen by other people then herself and we came in with hopes of relief for a specific medical problem that she ignored and refused to acknowledge. I would not see her again if my life depended on it.
