Dr. Fariborze Behram Barhamand, MD

If you’re considering this doctor you’re making a mistake. I looked at his video online and he is no longer that person. He was so unkind and dismissive during my chemotherapy. Completely desensitized to the suffering of his patients. Look elsewhere

I’m sure that this doctor was wonderful and at one point in his life, but that time is past. Incredibly unsympathetic towards reports of side effects his response when I told him of my neuropathy was “it’s no picnic”. Also rude to his nurses- Who are all oddly blonde for some reason/just saying- He made a horrible experience even worse

Dr. Barhamand has been my oncologist for nearly 15 years. He is brilliant! Expert in his field, kind and caring, always there for you.

I absolutely love Dr. Barhamand! I have been seeing him for 8yrs. He is honest, caring, compassionate, and loves helping others. He has a heart of gold! He makes me feel like I matter, that I am important, not just another patient. All of the nurses are always happy, smiling and caring! I would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone!!

My mother-in-law has been a patient of Dr. Barhamand for at least 15 years, starting with breast cancer (in remission)to MDS and leukemia which she now has. Dr. Barhamand goes above and beyond what I would expect in a doctor. His compassion and friendliness towards my mother-in-law is outstanding. He is very knowledgeable of current and future cancer treatments. He explains in laymans terms and with great detail the prognosis', treatments and recommendations not only to her but to family. The nurse and appointment staff are always very attentive, caring and efficient as well. High regards to everyone there. We are fortunate to have him and his office treat her cancer doctor and I would highly recommend him and them to anyone going through this.

When a "top" Chicago oncologist told my I would probably die after going through chemo that would make me so ill I wouldn't want to get out of bed, I was referred to Dr. B. He had me so at ease on that first visit that I wanted to start treatment immediately. He is always pleasant as is his entire staff. I am now cancer free for 12 years and look forward to my yearly follow up visits!

Dr Barhamand has treated my mother (81 yrs old) for both colon cancer and breast cancer (stage 3). My mother loves him and I hold him in high esteem. He has been honest and forth right regarding her options and the possible outcome for each treatment. He has called me at home multiple times to discuss test results and options. He makes my mom feel like she is his top priority each time we have an appointment. The nursing staff has always been kind and attentive during treatments. Each time we go for follow up sessions, they remember her and engage in conversation. We could not be more pleased with Dr. Barhamand and his staff.

In a few words....? Abysmal doctor. His bedside manner is non-existent, and he does not even bother to read up on latest developments in cancer research even though he is an ONCOLOGIST. He thinks of himself way too highly, and treats patients and their family members beneath him. I would NOT recommend this person (more like beast) to anyone that actually cares about getting their loved ones better. If you have him as a doctor, make sure to have someone there that is not afraid to challenge or even question him else he'll try to walk over you.
