This man saved my life last year

I had esophogus cancer was referred to another surgeon by my chemo dr went to him and he told me he couldn't do anything for me but would refer me to best Dr in the business. Wich was Dr. Gharagozloo. And i thank God i went to him he talked with me and the family and was straight up honest with the good and bad of my surgery if i wanted to go in that direction with my treatment. I opted to get the surgery and it went smooth and successful and for having all that work done on me and i wasn't a small man im pretty big 300 lbs but after surgery i was literally pain free it was amazing spent a couple of weeks in the hospital to recover then home free i will recommend Dr Gharagozloo to anyone that needs any of his services with out him i wouldn't be writing this review

Dr. Gharagozloo took on my Diaphram surgery after John Hopkins had told me to go home and die after I get my affairs in order. The first surgery failed after one of my ribs didn't heal correctly and a growth blew out all of the good work they had done 6 months before. Unfortunately, there was some paralysis in the diaphram that was caused by the growth. So he made the correct decision and put a gortex repair in my diaphram. It is now 2020 and my surgery took place back in 2008 in Maryland. The only aide I require to stay healthy is a CPAP machine that keeps my Oxygen level up when I sleep.

I was very lucky to have Dr. G perform surgery on me. My experience was wholly positive; Dr. G answered all questions and his staff were wonderful.

I had 2 failed nissens. I couldn't eat for 2 years and my life turned upside down. I kept begging God to save me. Then I found Dr Gharagozloo and he saved my life. He is one of a kind and the most caring surgeon I have ever met. I highly recommend him. I finally got a 2nd chance life again.

6 yrs ago garagazloo performed thoracic surgery on me and my life has NEVER returned to normal. He COMPLETELY ruined my life, with none or very little change. He NEVER even told my family or me the exact diagnosis if my illness. 2 yrs. prior, I was in/our of hospital several times from severe internal bleeding. Several bld transfusions needed in those 2 yrs. b4 they decided to do surgery. Out of nowhere I was sent to this Dr. and was told all info needed to be done b4 operation, never explaining why, wat, anything of why I was loosing blood. I was left with a HUGE scar across my back and was, and still am in CONSTANT pain coming from entire area of where I was cut. I've bn in/outtof hospital since then, due to vomiting 'old blood' and for extreme chronic pain. AFTER surgery, I had no problems getting follow ups, however, I and my family were ALWAYS treated very rudely. AFTER a yr. they released me, cutting me off ALL pain meds, ext.. That really didn't bother me, as Barbara and I… ALWAYS argued of how she wanted me to take pain medication. I didn't and still don't believe in taking pain meds unless I'm in bad pain. They wanted me to take it round the click. NEVER did. I haven't bn able to work since, have attemted suicide 2 times bcz of the pain and being sick, weak, going thru extreme depression due to all this. I've bn homeless due to no income. After the surgery I was told baseball was an "experimental stand moved from state to star often. 2 yrs. After this surgery, I was told by another gastroenterologist, that I was given t"the wrong surgery" and that Dr. was upset bcz of this. I've looked and have seen several drs. since to get any type of help, but, we're guessing, no one Dr. really wants to touch anothers mistakes. So, most likely, my life is shortened, bcz of this "wrong surgery", and I can't do a thing bout it. Please everyone, get a 2nd/3rd opinion b4 u allow garagazloo to touch u.

Dr. Gharagozloo was pretty much a lifesaver; his thoroughness, clinical-expertise, and staff are second to none. Celebration Health is lucky to have him on-staff. Dr. G performed an urgent lung operation on me when I was hospitalized. Despite normal post-operative pain: everything was fantastic. Furthermore, his staff were excellent at explaining the particulars of the procedure and insuring excellent results upon discharge. Dr. G was present before the operation, and he personally visited my bedside afterwords. The entire time, Dr. G was playing around and keeping the mood light. Before the surgery, he would joke and say things like: “ready for my first operation,” and “which lung was it again?” He will make you feel comfortable — regardless of apprehension. First-class!

I had Esophageal Valvuloplasty 1 year ago. I found Dr G to be compassionate and he never talked down to me. His surgery and techniques are spot on. I had no rules like nissen patients get. Thank God for his dedication to digestive disorders. I am in great condition now.

My daughter had the Robotic Surgery and we cam from Arizona. I found his staff very accessible and easy to work with. The set up there is amazing as there is essentially an intensive care recovery room that the patients can stay in as long as they need. The surgery itself takes about 2 or so hours and the recovery is extremely long and painful. My daughter did not have use of her left arm and now can use it. She still has some pain and her lung (which has to be collapsed for the robot to reach the correct area) has not come back to full capacity (we are 8 months post surgery) but she is significantly better than she was. My reading on TOS is that the standard surgery was not a good option as the success rate was 50% or below. I can understand how someone who goes through this and does not get better would be upset but the overall success rate with this robotic surgery by Dr. Gharagazloo who has tremendous experience with the technique is very good. Also, my daughter had a longer… recovery time and I was able to text Barbara and get answers even at about 3 am her time. They helped me deal with the airlines and made my daughter as comfortable as possible. Again, this surgery is very invasive and the recovery is very difficult but it was worth it for my daughter (who had one of the worst impingements that Dr. G had seen) and she is anatomically worse on her other side but not symptomatic so she will probably have a second surgery to relieve that situation as well.
