Dr. Farzad Najam, MD

Dr. Najam was extremely detailed and discussing the surgery procedures for me. He gave me a sense of calmness for a procedure of this magnitude and since I had never been in the hospital for an illness in my life. I would strongly recommend anyone to Dr. Najam for counsel or surgery because of his expertise as it pertains to the heart.

Following cardiac arrest of my sister, we were told to make a decision where to life flight her. GWU Hospital, Dr. Narjan was number one recommended. The ICU team and Dr. Narjan took great care of her. ( I am a nurse myself). She had a bovine valve replacement for endocarditis. Even in her fragile, weakened state, Dr. Najam operated on her and she came through surgery remarkably. Sadly, she passed away a few weeks later of complications not related to Dr. Najam or the surgery but I feel compelled, 2 years later to write about how professional, helpful and caring Dr. Najam was throughout the ordeal. Since my sister was in the hospital the whole time, I can not comment on appointments/office visits. Thank you Dr. Najam.
