Dr. Fazal Rahim, MD

A thoroughly professional and highly effective physician and scientist. After being diagnosed incorrectly by another doctor, Dr. Rahim quickly and correctly diagnosed by sleeping problems as Central Sleep Apnea, a less-common but very impactful issue. The previous sleep-study source prescribed a CPAP machine. "We discovered the CPAP use actually made your symptoms worse." found Dr. Rahim. For the past five months I've been using a specially equipped ASV unit for an average of 8+ hours per day. An ASV (Adaptive Servo-Ventilation) machine is a specialized Positive Airway Pressure (PAP) device that monitors a patient's breathing and automatically adjusts air pressure throughout the night to ensure adequate breaths are taken. The results have been amazing. Not only has my Apnea-Hyponea-Index (AHI) dropped from 41 per hour (severe) to 1.6 per hour. I am now so much stronger, and feel years younger. Thanks to you and your wonderful, courteous and attentive staff for changing the… course of my life! I am an actual patient, 76 years on the Planet, not a relative or employee. I now consider him a friend.

Dr is lacking in bedside manners and his staff is very unprofessional, rude, short with the patients and tends to talk over them. I took my brother who is having a hard time and I’m so glad I was with him! He is probably a good dr, but going to the dr is stressful enough without having to deal with the staff making it harder, I wouldn’t recommend him based solely on his staff, if possible drive a little further to Birmingham and get the help you need with much better people!

It was obvious this doctor did not review my MRI findings until the moment I was seen in the exam room. Then my condition was described to me in a way that was completely contrary to the MRI report, which I don't believe the pdf copy of the written report by the radiologist was actually ever read by Dr. Rahim. It seemed like he only looked at the pictures and was looking at the wrong ones. I was also told that I was having migraines when not a single symptom that I had at the time came close to such an erroneous diagnosis. I promptly went to see another neurologist in Birmingham who came to a conclusion that fell in line with that of the MRI report.

Dr. Rahim is a very attentive doctor. We were not rushed through the visit and he took the time to seriously listened to what we had to say. After being under the care of two previous doctors it was such a relief to find help that my husband needed. Also, you can count on him to return your calls.

I saw Dr Rahim today for the first time. He spent a lot of time with me and appeared to care about my well-being. I love this doctor. He is super intelligent, has a very attentive caring attitude, and spent the needed time to let me know he was listening to my opinion and needs. Highly recommend Dr. Rahim. He is Special!

Dr. Rahim will spend as much time with you as you need. He does not rush you through and always checks meds to see if they need refills of changes. The best, most caring doctor I have ever seen.
