Dr. Federico Gonzalez, MD

I had the misfortune of having four hand surgeries from him. The last three were to correct what he did the first time. I know have a badly deformed hand that has only partial use. I was sent to him by my doctor because they both work at Shawnee Mission. After the last surgery and a hand that would not work, he was surprised when I told him that I could type some. He did not ask about disability after maiming me. I have since talked with another doctor and several therapists. Their suggestion was to go into the hand and totally remove the finger involved. I fell this fall and actually broke the bone in the hand. This would not have happened if the finger would bend and was not deformed. And I had to pay to get a special cast made. He should be barred from practice. It is amazing that he has not been sued. I would not recommend him to anyone.

Spent $9000 dollars on a facelift and was even told by the office staff they dont see any difference after two surgeries. Stay away if you're looking for a facelift surgeon.

He's beyond his Prime years. He only cares about the money.

Was referred by surgeon I work with. Screwed up my mastectomy, took 4 surgeries to undo this damage. Got sepsis, breasts are far from symetrical. Almost died under his "care". Had to replace tissue expander because he punctured it. Ended up with 6 surgeries to repair the damage done, 4 from mastectomy reconstruction and infections, the other 2 from not knowing how to do expander and final implant. Not even close to symmetrical breasts. He needs his license revoked

I had a staph infection, which happens, but he did not manage it appropriately. He did a procedure on me in his office where I felt him cut me open. Instead of helping my self esteem he devastated it, and then did nothing to rectify the situation. I was left mutilated and he didn’t care.

He operated on my hand and when he finished surgery and came out to talk to the person with me he asked them why I was having surgery again. What you operate on someone and don't know why??? I often wonder if he did the surgery correctly and then they didn't bandage my hand correctly. He also stated that he did a procedure he didn't do in my medical record. Stay away.

Dr Gonzalez was rude to my husband when he's asked a question. After my hand surgery I told the Dr I couldn't raise my thumb. Three separate times his response was "Why do you need to do that?" Wish I'd read his reviews before letting him do surgery on me. So much anger about what he's doing to people!

Dr Gonzalez appears intimidating with his tall stature, don't be fooled by that because he's a big teddy bear! Dr Gonzalez is extremely attentive to your needs as I've been his patient for extensive reconstructive hand & arm surgery. His plastic surgery is top notch too . Love love love his staff and him !

Dr. Gonzalez has done multiple procedures for me and I couldn't be happier with the results.

Not personable at all. Very abrasive
