Dr. Felix Spiegel, MD

I got a Lap Band in 2013, mostly due to the lower cost and the flexibility of the adjustable band. Over the first year, I lost about 50 pounds. But...I rarely ate a meal when I didn't have to excuse myself to the restroom to "foam." The results were great, but there were so many symptoms to work around. Last year (2019), my Lap-Band started to fail. I wasn't able to maintain my weight loss and I was having really bad stomach pain. True Results did my original surgery, so since they are no longer around, I had to shop for a new surgeon. Dr. Spiegel was not at the top of my list then, but he is now!!! He removed my Lap-Band, along with tons of scar tissue and replaced it with a Gastric Sleeve. Two days of discomfort and it's been amazingly simple since then. I lost 30 pounds in the first 3 months and continue to maintain/lose every month. Dr. Spiegel and his staff did everything before and after my surgery to take care of me. Since that surgery, Dr. Spiegel has also removed… my gallbladder and is scheduled to fix my hiatal hernia next week. I have no problem putting my health in his hands. So glad to have found Dr. Spiegel and so glad I switched to the Gastric Sleeve.

First of all let me just say that the staff in Dr. Spiegel's office are amazing and so very friendly. They are upbeat and extremely helpful and patient. Dr. Spiegel does have a very mono tone voice for the most part but could not be any more professional and friendly. Everything was done in a timely matter and again they were all so helpful. I can't thank them all enough for my new life.

I had my lap band by another Dr that is no longer in business. Went to Dr Speigel because I knew there was something not right and I had only lost 25 lbs . I told him that I would like to have the revision to the sleeve and he did some tests and agreed. When the surgery was done they found a hernia around the port for the Lap-band Fast forward 1year and I have now lost 55 lbs and am still working on the 30 more but I feel so much better. Every time I go in for a check up I see Dr Speigel . He is always there, never just see a nurse like with the last Dr I had. He is always available to answer any questions I have. I truly recommend Dr Speigel.

Had lap band. After care was non existent. He pushes his diet food. I felt I was too much trouble. I guess my cheap price only paid for the surgery...nothing else.

I had the sleeve surgery in 2007 by another Doctor. I lost my weight initially but started gaining it back. I consulted with Dr Spiegel and he did an EGD. My egd report showed my stomach had stretched. I had my sleeve revised June 2016 and I have lost 60 lbs. My goal was to lose 80 and it seems like I am stuck at the 60 at this time. I know it will take some work on my part to get my last 20lbs off. I am so grateful to Dr Spiegel and his staff.

I had a lapban procedure in 2005. had some complications. dr. speigel was rude, saying i was not following diet correctly. since then, been diagnosed with damaged esophigus. sorry for misspelling. i am going to Houston Monday to have a revision and take the band out. please, before thinking about the man, check him out.

Had surgery in July 2016. Very happy with results, understanding of diet rules very important. I have lost 65 pounds since initial visit and continue to lose. His nurse is very helpful and always ready to answer any questions I may have.

5 months post op sleeve. Feeling great with no complication. Approval process with well. I will update later.
