Dr. Ferdinand M. Plecha, MD

Ended up with a drop foot & couldn't walk out of the hospital that I walked in to. Went through a sural nerve graft & tibial nerve transfer that didn't work. Dr. Plecha admitted he made a mistake & yet I couldn't find anyone to help with medical bills for his mistake. He left me disabled & his staff laughed at me when I questioned possible side effects during consultation. I guess I'm the .5% that ends up permanently disabled. Stay away & find another surgeon!

The doctor had a pleasant personality, however the results of the leg injections were unsatisfactory. I wanted the spider veins treated so that I can wear shorts over the summer without embarrassment. I went for several treatments and all I received was a bill for $442.09 and disappointment. No shorts for the summer and back to where I was, when I first started treatment with Dr. Plecha.

I had questions that I felt were reasonable and each question was answered with abruptness and hostile responses. When you are the patient, seeking answers to one's healthcare is a paramount objective that is met with obstacles and rudeness. There was zero compassion and total disregard to any of my concerns. I felt nothing was explained, and that quite frankly I was a burden to his day. Patients deserve respect and quality care.

Check your ego at the door. Lighten up. And don't pre-judge people either. We're reasonably smart people trying to work WITH you in trying to solve our health problems. I would like to be treated with respect, to be taken seriously and to have my questions answered without you getting testy or irritated. If you need to explain things more than once, then do it. If I need to repeat back what you said, read between the lines and don't insist that I misunderstood you because I didn't use the exact words you did. Respecting your patients and not treating them like a bother is just as important to us as whether you can wield a surgery knife.

Diagnosis correct, surgery what he anticipated it would be. Excellent surgeon with 0% bedside manner. Made us feel stupid when we would ask a question. So what he already told us, please tell us again. Work on this Doc!!!
