Dr. Ferdinando Stelio Buonanno, MD

I have been utterly disappointed the last two times I have seen this doctor. Melatonin and chamomile tea don't cure memory issues. Not only were the issues never properly addressed the testing that was supposed to be scheduled never happened. Not even after I called multiple times. Save your time and your money (maybe even your health) and go elsewhere.

If you can get to see him, he spends a lot of time with you reviewing your case in detail. But apparently he doesn't follow through.

First of all, he was supposed to get back to me and never has called. That was like 2 months ago. Just as well, saw someone else who resolved the issue quickly. A big waste of time and hassle. Too old fashioned and out of touch.

I admit I might not be the easiest patient. I want information to make an informed decision and I expect my doctor to have MY best interests at heart. This is not the case here. Key Points: When he wanted to give me a test that another doctor had just told me I did NOT need, a test that was not even in his field of expertise, I told him that the previous Dr. had said no test was called for. Instead of believing me, he excused himself and called the doctor. I made it clear to him, what I wanted. He suggested another test but never told me the downside of taking it. Fortunately I pressed him nicely to find out. The negatives were a real issue for me and I told him I wanted to think about it. I told him I'd let him know that week. The more I thought about it, the more I felt that he should have been honest with me knowing what my major issue was. I consulted a couple of people and called him back to ask more questions. That was 5 weeks ago. He has not returned my call. … My advice: Find another doctor. Too many issues with this one.

just fabulous, he couldn't be more dedicated and well informed on stroke. He saved my life for sure

Dr. Buonanno is a highly educated individual who definitely works hard to get to a diagnosis. If symptoms/side effects do not easily point to a cause, he is the kind of doctor you want to see. He will make sure that he finds an answer to the problem. He is a funny guy too which is nice! However, he is horrible with follow up and it's very hard to get in touch with him outside of appointments.
