Dr. Ferhina Sultana Ali, MD

Ferhina Ali, MD is an attending physician in the Vitreous and Retinal Surgery division. She specializes in the treatment of age-related macular degeneration, macular edema, diabetic retinopathy, tractional retinal detachment, laser for retinal tears, and in the surgical management of retinal detachments, macular holes, epiretinal membranes, and dislocated lenses.Dr. Ali is fellowship trained in vitreoretinal disease and surgery from the Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She completed her residency in ophthalmology at the University of California in San Francisco. She obtained her medical degree at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland and has a Masters in Public Health also from Johns Hopkins University, the Bloomberg School of Public Health, as an Alfred Sommer Scholar.Dr. Ali is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Retina Specialists, the Retina Society, and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology. Dunbar Hoskins IRIS Registry research award, received Women in Retina awards, and was a fellow of the Society of Heed Fellows.
