Dr. Fernando Javier Castro Pavia, MD

I was referred to the Cleveland Clinic for an evaluation and (unfortunately) was Dr. Castro-Pavia was assigned to my case. He was the most impudent and uncaring doctor i have ever had reason to visit. He never read my medical records or the referral notes before seeing me. He was condescending and dismissive, even appearing pompous. I left the clinic with such distaste and dissatisfaction. He never gave me a response to the referral. I would never recommend this doctor to anyone.

If I could give less than one star I would. Mr. Castro-Pavia was the most unprofessional and dismissive “doctors” I have ever met. I use the term doctor loosely as he basically did no more than a nurse would. His bedside manner is atrocious. He blew of my pain as being caused by depression and anxiety, because apparently he is both a GI AND and psychologist, all because of a medication I take to help with insomnia. I wouldn’t even recommend this doctor to my worst enemy. He acted like all I wanted was pain medicine and walked away from me when i was explaining to him how he was making me feel like i was making everything up. Do yourself a favor and find yourself a GI who actually cares more for his patients than making a buck.

My experience with this employee of The Cleveland Clinic simply could not be any lower. The last time I felt the way that I did after seeing him was when I was bullied as a child. If he doesn't receive some education about compassion and respect, my feeling is that both this doctor and the facility will be open to some discipline gong forward.

I had intestinal bleeding and went to see this jerk. I waited 1 hour to get in the exam room at Cleveland clinic. After they finally called me and put me in an examination room, I waited almost 2 hours for this unprofessional jerk and he NEVER showed up. I just left and walked out when he never showed up, and I'm surprised he still works there. He should have been fired. No one ever gave me an explanation or an apology. Cleveland Clinic Florida does not compare to the Ohio clinic. One would expect the Head of the department to call me and get a debriefing to properly reprimand this jerk. He should be debarred from practicing medicine. He violated the most basic tenet of health care.
