Dr. Fernando Antonio Romero, MD

The lady fitting me for contacts told me I would need my eyes dilated in order to get my contact prescription. I told her I didn’t feel comfortable having them dilated because when they have been dilated previously I was unable to safely drive. I also told her that I have had exams without dilation and it wasn’t a problem to receive my prescription. She told me I wouldn’t be able to have an exam at her office without dilation or receive a prescription. I told her I would just go ahead and have them dilated because it was difficult for me to reschedule since I already had to get a babysitter just to come the first time and I was out of contact lenses. I repeatedly told her how uncomfortable it made me feel that I would have to drive home but that I had no other choice so just go ahead and do it. She then told me that she was refusing to have me as a patient because I wasn’t cooperating well enough and I had to leave. She said it is her private practice and she can ask patients to do… whatever she wants otherwise they can find a new place to have their eyes examined. I asked to speak to the doctor and she told me I could speak to him after his patient so I waited. She then decided I couldn’t speak to him until the end of the day but that if I didn’t leave immediately she was going to call security. I have never been treated so poorly in my entire life all because I refused to drive home without being able to properly see. If you question these “doctors” and don’t do whatever they say be prepared to be treated like dirt.

We have been going to Dr. Romero for over 15 years...He is very knowledgeable and fantastic doctor...and that is the ONLY reason we keep going back and enduring his rude and stupid staff. They are more interested in talking on their cell phones on personal calls and being rude than doing their job. From horrible telephone etiquette, arguing with me about what the doctor advised me to do to giving out the wrong prescription that the doctor told them to do....it's very frustrating and makes Dr. Romero look bad.

man when multiple people are complaining about your staff you need to make a change. Or is it your wife who will not allow you to improve the overall bad review of your practice

I really like Dr Romero but his staff is really rude & not helpful.Whenyou call for an appointment you are put on hold forever..They need more phone training,I have been in the waiting area and they answer the phone and not greet justa automatic " Dr Romero's can you hold? to every single call answered..I want to go back after 4 years but dread dealing with the front office staff.. debating to return..

Dr was great. But office staff was rude and unhelpful! Rudest people I have delt with!
