Dr. Ferrol Joseph Lee, MD

To start out, I'm a 37 y/o male, who deals with multiple medical conditions, ranging from Klinefelter's syndrome, osteoporosis, hypothyroidism, and a thyroid goiter, with multiple noduels, to name a few. I started out seeing Dr. Lee, in early 2020, as my endocrinologist was on leave. My first appointment with Dr. Lee was very discouraging. Dr. lee did a brief review of my medical history, and started making all sorts of changes, starting with discontinuing my testosterone, which is a life time medicine, because my body doesn't produce enough of it naturally. Dr. Lee proceeded to tell me that he was changing my diagnosis of osteoporosis, to osteopenia. When I went to say something to him, he had received a phone call, on his cell. Dr. Lee took the call, and was in and out of the office, repeating $3,000 over and over, and then telling the caller, that he'd be their when he could. Dr. Lee got back to me, and continued to change the already established diagnosis that I had. Before I knew… it, my 60 minute appointment had turned in to a 35 minute nightmare, and Dr. Lee was pushing me out the door. I didn't get to ask many questions, or even tell him how I felt about all of the unnecessary changes to my healthcare. Before he left the office, he told me that he'd be right back with my paperwork, and a nurse would also be in to check my A1C. Needless to say, Dr. Lee returned with the paperwork, and sent me out to checkout. After being at the checkout desk for a few minutes, I asked if Dr. Lee, or the nurse would be over to check my A1C? the secretary said she didn't know what I was referring to, and said Dr. Lee had left for the day. I Never received the A1C, my appointment was cut short by 25 minutes, and I had all sorts of unnecessary changes to my medical diagnosis, and healthcare plan, oh, and had to drive an hour back home. I refused to see Dr. Lee again after that, and interestingly enough, the endocrinologist that I was able to see afterwards, reverted back to my original diagnosis and healthcare plan. I see that Dr. Ferrol J Lee MD, has been helpful to other patients, and that's awesome! But he was not a good match for me.

I went to see Dr Lee for Hashimotos. I had heard so many wonderful things about him and how compassionate he was. Well, I must have seen his other side. I went for my appointment, he came in without reviewing any of my notes and tests from previous Dr's. I spent at least 1/2 hour trying to explain where things were in the paperwork he received 2 months prior. Then I watched him chicken peck notes in the computer. This man had no interest in my symptoms. My hair loss, cold intolerance, low heart rate, constipation, fatigue and I could go on, but it is all due to Depression-according to him. I explained I had a goiter, which he did not believe me. If he had bothered to look at my thyroid ultrasound, it clearly stated I had an inflamed goiter at the time, but he continued to argue with me. Not one ounce of compassion, everything to him was science based. If he had bothered to do some research, he would see there are updates to treatment as well as having symptoms although your… TSH is within range. If he had looked at the blood work and treated me with respect, he would have seen how my levels have fluctuated. My mother was with me so I stayed and listened to his degrading treatment. When we left, he could clearly see I was upset. I had no idea I would have to bring Clinical Trial studies as well as know my medical history inside and out for this appointment. I am in such a brain fog and that paired with the disbelief of how I was treated, was too much! Shame on you Dr Lee. I know how I feel and I won't let you brush me off like so many other Dr's do to patients with Hashimotos. I went home and didn't eat for 2 days because I was so upset. I am scheduled to see an integrative, functional medicine Dr and I know there is no way I will be treated as bad as I was with Dr Lee. I am going to get better and it won't be due to over prescribed antidepressants by Dr's who clearly would rather be somewhere else. On our way out, Dr Lee could clearly see I was upset, he looked at my mother, smiled and said Good Luck. That is unacceptable!!!!

I have been coming to Sayre and Dr.Lee for 22 years. He is a wonderfully kind,intelligent,doctor with warmth and sincerity.Dr.Lee always has a smile and a willingness to being available for any concerns,not just to me, but his other patients as well. Dr.Lee has always been a gentleman and professional,and approachable. I.have a great deal of respect for Dr.Lee. Thankyou
