Dr. Fetih Akgul, MD

Dr. Fetih Akgul is very arrogant. He worships himself. His authority is an idol to him. He is verbally violent towards anyone who disagrees with him. He makes illegal threats to control and subdue people. Fetih Akgul breaks the law to accomplish his agenda. I grew up under my dad who behaved the exact same way. My dad sexually abused me every single night for at least a year. My dad physically abused me for 12 years. My dad emotionally abused me for 24 years. I end up at Prairie St. Johns because I became addicted to self-harm which is how I coped with what my dad did to me. Fetih Akgul abused me the same way my dad did except that Akgul did not sexually or physically abuse me. I have Complex PTSD and a nervous system that is unable to deal with any further trauma. Fetih Akgul should be SEVERELY punished for what he did to me and a lot of other patients. Fetih Akgul abuses women. He should be SEVERELY punished for that. When I got home, I was no better off then when I… arrived at Prairie St. John's. I ended up right back in addiction which could have resulted in my death. Instead of helping me, Fetih Akgul chose to add to my injuries. Fetih Akgul chose to hurt me. From a legal perspective, Fetih Akgul should not be a doctor. Fetih Akgul is the worst doctor I have ever met. I HATE authority because authority destroyed my health. Authority robbed me of my innocence by sexually violating me. Authority destroyed my nervous system so that I can't function normally. Authority has traumatized me all my life, and Fetih Akgul, WHO SHOULD NO BETTER, does the exact same thing. I don't know how Fetih Akgul became a doctor, but he has no business being one. Fetih Akgul doesn't even deserve a single star for a rating. His rating is below zero. I've never been hurt by any doctor more than by Fetih Akgul. He is the worst.

Super rude dismissive and sexist. Avoid at all costs. I was stuck in a treatment facility and unable to request a different provider. He was horrible called a friend unstable for crying.

Dr. Akgul has no business treating vulnerable patients in an inpatient psychiatric hospital. He is abusive and will threaten the patient if they disagree with them. He's unbelievably arrogant and is dangerous to anyone who may have past trauma. He is a disgusting excuse for a doctor and it's horrifying he's still allowed to treat vulnerable patients.

Good example of how the whole Prarie St. Johns Fargo system is a bit off kilter. He is a Psychiatrist in a hospital that deals heavily with addiction yet seemingly has no ideas how to treat it using pharmacotherapy. Very cookie-cutter in terms of medications he does use (Vistaril for anxiety, tramadol for sleep). He will taper you quickly off any controlled substances, efficacy or not. Has trouble containing negative opinions regarding modalities he 'doesn't believe in,' likely because he has no understanding of them and doesn't care to break away from the outdated idea that chemical dependency is a one-size-fits-all disorder that really boils down to will power (false!) He's not that old, but mentally and approach-wise he is a dinosaur in the field of addiction.
