Dr. Fikret Ismail Atamdede, MD

Very humble, professional, compassionate, and down to earth. His expertise is one of very few professionals can own. His job is amazingly incredible. Long life for such an amazing surgeon.

Dr. A was excellent. He has a professional demeanor and the exam was quick and expertly handled! My only grievance is that the office is very run down and not very shiny and clean. It needs a revamp to live up to the doctor’s fine reputation.

Dr. Atamdede is not only very personable and compassionate, he is also (most importantly) highly competent in his care. With 35years experience I felt extremely comfortable with him, he took time to answer every question I had without making me feel rushed. My surgery went very well and he continued to be very compassionate post op, visiting everyday in the hospital and again answering any questions I had. I feel grateful that doctors like him are still around!!

Very attentive doctor. Always checking in before and after surgery and always with a smile. Answers all your questions and doesn't mind being called by nurses if there needs to be verification.

I was diagnosed with uterine cancer in 2008 and referred to Dr. Atamdede as my surgeon. He did a great job and I had few complications other than from radiation that I ended up having. My problem is that his office provides NO follow up on scheduling appointments or necessary follow through. Other doctors call to remind you when it is time (Torrance Memorial sends me the annual "you need your mammogram" reminder, for instance). And when I do follow through, for instance in getting my CT scan, I never hear the results. The staff does this good doctor and his patients a grave disservice. I now realize that I should have gotten a scan this summer and am kicking myself -- it is my health and my responsibility but most offices help their patients in this arena. Don't go here unless you are tremendously pro-active and organized.

Dr. Atamdede is a Gynecologic Oncologist who treated me for cervical cancer. I had to have a radical hysterectomy and it went very smoothly. I had an easy recovery (very little pain) and I only have a small thin scar. He is a wonderful surgeon and a very nice man. He spent a lot of time answering my questions and working with the doctor I saw for my second opinion and also working with the radiation team at Torrance Memorial. His office staff leaves a LOT to be desired as there is little follow up and they are rude when I try to make my appointments or have questions. There is nothing like calling with a question about your life threatening illness and being treated as if you just interrupted their oh-so-critical MySpace browsing (complete with heavy sighs and attitude). There is usually a long wait even when I arrive early for my appointments but my understanding is that Dr. Atamdede does a lot of emergency surgeries that push his appointments back so at least I am waiting for a… good reason. Interestingly enough my regular GP and my dad (a retired GP) mentioned that Dr. Atamdede must be a very gentle surgeon because I recovered so quickly. I do believe they are right simply based on his manner. He is a very nice, soft spoken and extremely intelligent Doctor.
