Dr. Casimir is an assistant professor of surgery. His clinical interests include the use of transesophageal echo for hemodynamic monitoring, use of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, treatment of flail chest with rib plating, laparoscopic ventral hernia repair, abdominal wall reconstruction and burn surgery. His research interests focus on hemodynamic monitoring and management of acute lung injury. He completed his trauma/acute care surgery and critical care fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, prior to which he finished a general surgery residency and ECMO fellowship at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. He earned his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine.
