Dr. Fitzhugh C Pannill, MD

Dr Pannill took care of my elderly father. He and his staff were wonderful...They all showed such compassion, answering all my questions, putting in the extra time to be sure he was getting all the medical care he needed. Just a great medical group, I would whole heartedly recommend this fine group.

Ten years ago, having moved to a new Town I asked a few new acquaintances for a good doctor. The ones recommended weren't taking new patients so I ended up with one on the second best list. He didn't last long. Frankly not one who really cared about me. I was then referred to Dr. Pannill. On my first visit I warned him, as always with a new doctor, that I would not take pills for a sore elbow. Let's just fix the elbow without contaminating my whole body. He smiled and hasn't stopped doing so for ten years. GREAT, CARING and with a well deserved reputation for being as THOROUGH as possible. So great that after another move I decided he's more than worth the extra time and gas mileage to keep visiting for all my medical needs. He's as good as can be found.

During the course of a physical, where he had actually just looked down my throat, I asked him about a lump on my neck that was about the size of half a ping-pong ball. He said; "I wouldn't worry about it." A few weeks later, I asked my cardiologist what he thought. He made an appointment with an ENT guy, who did a biopsy. Guess what? Cancer on a tonsil, spread to my lymph system. Surgery, chemo and 26 radiation treatments later, I think I'm out of the woods, but not thanks to that clown.

Beyond poor bedside manner, he's actually insulting and makes you feel like an idiot for needing medical attention. That you're wasting his time. Usually when seeing a patient for the first time, doctors introduce themselves, shake your hand -- at least say hello. My greeting from Dr. Pannill was literally, "What's wrong with you?"
