Dr. F. Douglas Srygley IV IV, MD

While I don't like going to to the doctor, much less a garstologist, Dr. Srygley and his entire staff were exceptional.

Dr Srygley performed a very intricate procedure on my husband replacing plastic stents in his bile duct that had caused him to go into septic shock. His previous gastro doctor left the previous stents in way too long and he came close to losing his life. Dr. Srygley came to his rescue and basically saved his life. He will be performing this procedure on him every three months to insure bile does not poison his body again. Dr. Srygley is a brilliant, confident, down to earth doctor who we are so thrilled to have in our lives.

Dr. Fletcher Srygley 4310 James Casey St, Austin, TX 78745 “Waiver,” “This is my personal experience, and my OPINION AND RIGHT TO USE MY FREEDOM OF SPEECH” My father Mr. Richard had been seeing Dr. Fletcher Shrygley for many years, my fathers main condition was primarily his responsibility, I can’t explain the anger in my heart, I guess no one can until it happens to you. My dad had many hospital visits, but still this doctor only wanted to see us only every three months, and when we did arrive to his appointment, he said to my father “you look great” and sent us on our way, never spending enough time with us, I did love this doctor. The last visit was a longer one about a month, his colleague would come do rounds on my dad everyday, saying the same things, you look great, we’ll get you out of the hospital soon, it wasn’t til a fantastic Hospital Dr. and other hospital staff That never new my father, EVER! had pulled us to the side and explained to us my father was a very sick man and… to make sure we had arrangements, I lost it! I said what?! Dr. Shrygley and his colleges said that he’s doing great??? His hospital advocates suggested him to go on hospice. Again,..WHAT NO HE’s fine, his Dr. said so, I finally agreed, my father was not happy about it, the last visit I had with Shrygley I said to him, hospital staff is recommending Hospice, what do you think doc? He with confidence stated, that’s not true, he’s not a candidate for hospice. Again saying to us you look great and are getting better, we’ll need to get you scheduled in my office for a follow up appointment for three months, bye. Well about a week later my dad went home, went unconscious for a week until he took a last breathe in front of me. It’s been a couple of months, but I’ve finally have the strength to write this, my daddy was my best friend, moral of my story is, DO NOT GIVE FAMILY FALSE HOPE!!! if anything maybe exaggerate the problem a little, so when the patient does get well, the family would be so happy, I’m angry at you Dr. Shrygley! You never called, sent a card or even snail mail? I feel you knew you where wrong and possibly ashamed, but I wouldn’t know your side because you never had the decency to reach out to me. Again, this is my story and my right to express my freedom of speech.

Dr. Fletcher was really awesome when I saw him @ South Austin Medical Center. He definitely had his hands full with the patient volume but was very knowledgeable and got to treatment options quick.

Dr Srygley is an amazing Dr. he cares about his patients.

terrible bedside manor

My issue is not with Dr. Srygley but with his office staff. His nurse did not respond to a message left Monday morning - I found out today, 3 days later, that she left a message with the appointment desk to call and schedule an appointment and that didn't happen. When I called today I was told that it would be 2 months before I could see him. This is disappointing and I wonder if he is aware of these issues..

Extremely competent and thorough

Dr. Srygley took care of my father over the weekend. He was gracious and kind and provided a great service. Would use him again any time!
