Dr. Florian Sattelmacher

I was referred to Dr. Sattelmacher after my old PCP retired and I will never be going back to Dr. Sattelmacher to say the least! When going in for a pre-op appointment for hip surgery he was very abrupt and rude during the entire appointment. When I brought up that I had a rash and wanted him to look at it he quickly told me that he didn't have time to look at my rash and that he had other patients to see. After going back and forth with him and finally convincing him to view my rash he was shocked and said it is shingles! This now pushes back my hip surgery to ensure I can heal from the shingles. Imagine if I didn't convince him to look at my rash I would have gone through with surgery and could have had a bad outcome due to an infection from surgery! In following up with Dr about the pain from my shingles he was very rude on the phone and would pose questions to me like "what do you want me to do?". It shocks me that a doctor would treat a patient like this and not try to help them… while they are in pain. In the next week I tried to contact him again to receive pain medication for the shingles and have been told that I can go to urgent care if I really need it instead of him trying to help me or prescribe medication. Bottom line - DO NOT go to this doctor he will provide no help and will make any type of communication with him extremely difficult and make you feel like a victim when all you are trying to do is stand up for your self and get medical attention.
