Dr. Florinda Islamovic-Jacob, MD

Florinda Islamovic, MD, MS, is a Pediatric Hospitalist at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein. Dr. Islamovic’s clinical focus centers on providing evidence-based, family-centered inpatient care for children with acute and chronic conditions.After obtaining her Bachelor of Arts in chemistry from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 2012, Dr. Islamovic earned her Doctor of Medicine at St. George’s University School of Medicine in St. George, Grenada, in 2020. She then attended the University of Florida College of Medicine, where she completed an internship in 2021 and her pediatric residency in 2023. In 2025, Dr. Islamovic earned her Master of Science in clinical research methods from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and completed a pediatric hospital medicine fellowship at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein.Dr. Islamovic’s research focuses on identifying and addressing social determinants of health, particularly in …hospitalized children with asthma, to improve clinical outcomes and quality of life. She also has an interest in integrating community voices and collaborating with the community to build interventions that improve children’s lives. Her work has been published in numerous peer-reviewed publications and she has presented at several national and international conferences.Dr. Islamovic is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in General Pediatrics. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the International Society for Social Pediatrics and Child Health and the Academic Pediatric Association (APA). In 2025, Dr. Islamovic received the Teaching Commendation Letter for Excellence in Teaching from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
