If I could give 0 stars I would. I am heartbroken and deeply disappointed in the care my sister received from Dr. Mitchell. Despite expressing severe pain and clear signs that something was wrong, she was dismissed and not taken seriously. Her symptoms were minimized, and she was made to feel as though she was overreacting. Tragically, as a result of this negligence, she lost her baby. What makes this even more painful is that Dr. Mitchell is a fellow woman of color. You would hope that shared experiences and an understanding of the disparities women of color face in healthcare would lead to more empathy, more compassion, and more advocacy not less. Instead, my sister was treated with indifference during one of the most vulnerable times in her life. No mother should ever have to go through what my sister did. I pray that this review encourages serious reflection and change so that no other family has to suffer the same unimaginable loss. As someone who works in the healthcare field,… I understand the importance of truly listening to patients. They know their bodies better than anyone after all, they’ve lived in them their whole lives. That’s why I am both heartbroken and outraged by the care my sister received from Dr. Mitchell. This could have been avoided. Dr. Mitchell’s approach was not only a professional failure it was a human one.

She deliver my first child. I hope she has changed her attitude, because it was the worst experience of my life. She didnt listen to me, asked the nurse to step outside my room to tell her she was turning my epidural off- never told me and neither did the nurses. Office visits were terrible. Did not care about me one bit. I thank her for a live birth and healthy baby....other than that cant think of one good thing about her. STILL traumatized years later. I'll never forget it. Even stopped going to that practice because of her. Found a new group. Horrible bedside manner.

Great bedside manner. kind and caring professional. Explain procedures and best solutions. Make sure you understand your concerns as she answers. Encourage follow up with annual etc or as need.

I was very disappointed with Dr. Mitchell. Her attitude and unwillingness to listen was very unprofessional. I have been with Kaiser for 15 years and she is the first doctor I've encountered that could care less or even pretend to care about her patients.

communication skills suck....needs to listen at patient with more compassion and concern. needs to be less prune face and smile more, be more friendly and approachable. don't get mad if patients ask alot of questions about their healthcare options, don't decide for the patient what she thinks is best when it's the patients choice. be the educator not the dictator. customer service goes a long way and the lack thereof will get you nowhere fast no matter how long you have been in the business.
