Dr. Fonda Smith Strickland

Dr Strickland ordered a $900 retainer that i never agreed to, then she tells me she will get me a night guard on her. So i pay for the retainer and she tried to charge me for the nightguard. I go to pick up night guard and she tries to charge me 650 and wont see me even though i am at her office. She then charges me 160 for a no show for the appointment despite me being there. No she refuses to send my dental files and xrays to myself and other dental offices even though i signed the consent at the other dental offices which is ILLEGAL. Filing complaints with NC dental board amongst others. I have been a patient here for 7 years. Totally disgusted. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Terrible. I would rate her a negative number if it were a choice. Her bedside manner is lacking. She made me feel as if I was an inconvenience to her time. I have a severe disability that affects my memory and thinking. I wanted to discuss my treatment plan with her. She went over it with me on the first visit however, I can't remember a lot of it and I wanted to ask about doing something else. She told me that I was getting ahead of myself by asking what all needed to be done in my mouth to fix everything. I don't understand how I am getting ahead of myself by wanting to know the issues in my mouth and what needed to be done to fix it. She looked at me and laughed and in a condescending voice said she was confused as to why I was asking about my treatment plan because she thought she had already told me what needed to be done, her words. I said to her that she would want to know too and that I needed confirmation. She made me feel uneasy. I did not feel safe while she was… drilling at my teeth because of how she made me feel in the beginning like she was mad at me or something. I choked on the water while she was drilling and she acted as if that inconvenienced her and sternly told me "BREATHE THROUGH YOUR NOSE!" When I went in the first time for my new patient appointment, she was very dry, never made any small talk, never asked me anything about myself, just bone dry like she hates her job. I should have gotten the hint then but thought she was just having a bad day. Now I know this is who she is. She should not be working for the public. She made me feel terrible and insecure and it was the most traumatic experience I have had with a dentist or doctor. The dental tech was very sweet and made me feel great during my visit. I do not trust Dr. F Strickland and I will never step foot in her office again.

I can't say enough nice things about this office, and I HATE going to the dentist. Dr. Strickland and her staff are personable and knowledgeable and put me at ease from the minute I walked in the door. Dr. Strickland has a common-sense approach toward her patients that makes you feel like she is trying to do her very best without running the cost too high. Highly recommend!!!!
