Dr. Foram Rajendra Desai, MD

My wife was having trouble swallowing and we were fortunate enough to get in to see Doctor Desai. After less than 30 minutes, we decided that she's going to be our new GP. Wonderful demeanor, asks all the right questions, diagnosed the problem and most importantly, put together a plan. I can't tell you how fortunate we feel that we have her as our new doctor.

If I could give Dr. Desai no stars, I would. My primary doctor is Doctor Sorkin who works out of the same office as Dr Desai (Riverside on Palisade Ave in Jersey City). I went to Desai because I was having issues breathing due to my allergies. Sorkin usually prescribes me a certain prescription annually (Loratadine). Being that Sorkin left early, I was only able to see Desai which I was hesitant about but because I was only getting worse, I had no choice. When I made the appointment with the receptionist, I emphasized that it was for a SICK visit. She made me aware that I had not seen Sorkin in over a year, so I decided to do my annual physical as well. Not only did Desai make me wait over two hours AFTER my appointment time, but when she came to check on me, she had no information that it was for a “sick” visit and apologized being that she thought it was “just an annual physical” visit. So they definitely will not respect your time although you made an appointment if it’s just for a… physical. I told Desai my symptoms in detail and asked her to prescribe the Loratadine because the other medications usually do not work for me. She prescribed me 5 medications. Before I left, she gave me the breakdown of the meds she was going to prescribe. She was supposed to give me the nebulizer machine along with the Albuterol that is required. I left her office at almost 8pm and before I left, I asked for the receptionist to confirm the prescriptions I was given. When she called Desai, her response was “I just told her what the medications were.” I made my way to my pharmacy and the expected happened, she did not give me the correct medication NOR did she give me the nebulizer machine. I went to sleep short of breath and woke up the next day to have to take off of work and go BACK to the office to FIND OUT SHE WAS NOT WORKING. I was told I had to wait another day so she could approve the request for the medication I emphasized she give me. Long story short, I am still waiting and looking at other reviews, this is not her first time being unprofessional, and disrespectful to everyone’s time and CORRECT medication. AVOID THIS DOCTOR AT ALL COSTS!

THOROUGH AND CONCISE

Dr Desai was the attending doctor for my mother who suffered a serious stroke. She and her team were skilled, caring and extremely attentive during her long hospital stay. We were very grateful to have her as our mother's doctor.
