Dr. Forest Platt Walker, MD

If I could give zero or negative stars, I would. This is the rudest, most unprofessional doctor I have ever encountered and that is coming from someone who has seen MANY doctors and specialists throughout my life. I unfortunately had the displeasure of encountering this doctor twice, during two separate ER visits with some of the worst abdominal pain I have ever experienced. I presented my concerns about feeling like I was having issues with my gallbladder. When this doctor came into the room on the second appointment, she sat down, looked at me while I was in pain, and asked "What do you want me to do for you?" in a very condescending tone, as if she isn't a doctor who's job is to diagnose and help people. She then proceeded to explain how "I have really bad anxiety" which she seems to be the expert on having met me now for the second time, even though neither appointment I stated feeling anxious as a concern (just being in pain). She then diagnosed me with "IBS caused by my super bad… anxiety". She did give me a medication in the ER that I ended up having a terrible reaction to. This medication actually did cause me to experience full-blown panic and anxiety, but in a way that I have never experienced before. I was so scared and I felt awful and all I could think about was ripping my IV out and running out of there. The medication actually made me feel like I was losing my mind. When I brought this up to her and tried to advocate for myself, she said (and I wish I was joking) "Well, you're always anxious" and like condescendingly offered me a medication to help. After that, she sent me on my way. I am now a few months out from having my gallbladder removed from a doctor who actually cares about people and I have not had any of the same symptoms that I was experiencing that put me in the ER multiple times (and much to my dismay twice with her). If any of you have the displeasure of encountering this doctor (which I see that many people have had the same unfortunate experience as I in this reviews), I am so sorry and I really hope that you are able to advocate and ask for someone different.

I took my mother to the ER last week and had the worst experience I have ever had in all my years of ER visits in several states. Dr. Walker came into the room after a shift change and spent no time in the room. My mom was having an allergic reaction to something in the room as she had done several other times and after asking for Benadryl several times, the nurse was not able to contact the doctor. When the doctor came into the room she told me directly that I needed to have grace because there were several patients who had emergencies and were on death’s door. She proceeded to tell me that “my mother was not dying tonight”. She insinuated that I had been ignorant to the staff. Dr. Walker was extremely dismissive, patronizing, and belittling to both myself and my mother. The doctor did not acknowledge my mother’s condition and the doctor tried to chalk her symptoms up to anxiety due to a recent diagnosis. She did not acknowledge my mother’s allergic reaction and did not even evaluate… my mother despite her reaction and did not provide my mother with any Benadryl to help her. Dr. Walker continued to use a belittling voice and when she left the room she slammed the door. I have never been treated that way in my life. As a doctor her ethical responsibility is to “do no harm” and she put my mom at risk.

Forest Walker, the doctor, refused to explain to me what kind of mass I was diagnosed with. She scared me and wouldn't answer my questions. Someone came in, a nurse, I am assuming, to discharge me. I started asking her, the nurse, the questions that I didn't not get to ask the doctor, Forest Walker, in the 1 minute or less that she (the doctor) spent with me. The nurse went to get the doctor to answer my questions. Forest Walker came into the room once again and scared me, once again. Still refusing to give me the explanation that I needed, she stormed out of the treatment room and told me that she didn't have to listen to me. I followed her into the hallway and she turned around and yelled "you stood up and didn't pass out, didn't you?" And exposed that part of my my private health information to anyone within earshot. She ran down the hallway and hid somewhere when I yelled after her. Still refusing to speak to me. I deserve better treatment than that. I am a human being! She didn't… take me seriously, nor was she in any way professional. To add insult to injury, I collapsed outside of the hospital doors scraping my arms, legs and hip on the concrete. The next day, still without answers and terrified about a mass that she said I had, I went to the University of Kentucky hospital in Lexington. I, in fact, do NOT have any kind of mass whatsoever! Not only did she cause me distress, injury and instill fear, she also misdiagnosed me. She is wreckless, irresponsible and does more harm than good. I will never willingly go to this hospital for care, ever again because of her. Also, I now require surgery to address the health concern that I went to the ER for to begin with, a ruptured ovarian cyst.

Horrible doctor. I saw her in the ER at St. Joseph extremely short of breath and very ill. She was rude, arrogant, dismissive of my illness and missed diagnosing my pneumonia and told me she “was just there to make sure I wasn’t dying right then and it was up to my primary doctor.” I was dehydrated with serious low sodium and had pneumonia/flu a month previously. She did not even want to see paperwork about any of those problems. She sent me back home with no medication for severe shortness of breath or antibiotics and did not even look at the X-ray or wasn’t capable of reading it. She gave me no results of that X-ray. The radiologist caught the pneumonia the next day and my personal doctor got me the care I needed and antibiotics. Everyone else in that ER was good.

I have never experienced anything like Dr. Walker. She lacks compassion and empathy. She does not need to be in the profession of helping others. I would like to think that St Joe Hospital could find a more qualified doctor to represent their ER.

I saw Dr. Walker in the ED of Saint Joseph hospital, Lexington. She is the most unhelpful doctor I have ever seen. She should have chosen a profession other than medicine, if she doesn't want to help patients. I think at this point, she has wasted 4 years of her medical school and 3 or more years of residency training. What a shame and disgrace!

She is the absolute worst doctor I have ever seen. She came in the room for about 1 min and did absolutely nothing to treat me. I could hear her talking about drinking wine with the nurses out at the desk and laughing for hours while I was waiting in the room without care.
