Dr. Fraidoon Mostamand, DO

While I was bleeding during my pregnancy and had a miscarriage he was extremely rude dismissive horrible manners. I have never seen something like this after waiting for hours he didn’t even looked at my face. He reported that he did physical exam when he didn’t he is a fraud and will be reporting. It’s a shame he is working at a great place like Ucsd

My UCSD cardiologist recommended that I go to the emergency room because I had severe stomach pain that I initially concluded was due to a change in heart arrhythmia medication. The experience in the waiting room was horrible and despite my doctor and my concern that it could be heart-related I waited over four hours to be given an ER bed. However, once I saw Dr. Mostamond, It took only a couple of minutes for him to make a preliminary diagnosis of acute appendicitis, confirmed a short time later by a CAT scan. The doctor was polite and those who might have taught him to be brusque must realize that emergency rooms can be overloaded by demand. UCSD badly needs to improve its reception area experience and triage, but Dr. M was competent and helpful in the several interactions I had with him that evening.

I had a horrible experience with this doctor at the UC San Diego Health emergency room (Thornton Pavilion). He was extremely rude and dismissive, scolding me when I told him my symptoms and asked why I did not seek care from my primary. My insurance only works in my hometown and I am not from San Diego, also it was an emergency (obviously). In the end, he told me he would give me a referral but it was not his problem that my insurance would not pay for it. I'm surprised he is a doctor with his utter lack of compassion. In the future, I would rather pay for a plane ticket home before seeking care from someone like Dr. Mostamand. Don't waste your time.

He is terrible. Horrible bed side manner. I saw him at UCSD ER and I waited 2 hours to see him and he just saw me for 5 minutes and told me he couldn't help me. I paid $100 copay to hear that? I made a formal complaint with UCSD and they are reviewing it. If you get him at ER ask for another DR.
