Dr. Franc Strgar, MD

My son has been seeing Dr Strgar for almost 10 years. He has been there for us through the good times and difficult times as my son struggled through his teen years. Between appointments he always made himself available to call and talk when we needed his support and advice. I can’t begin to count the number of times I needed to leave a VM and he returned my call. We are very grateful and most appreciative of his dedication.

Seems indifferent to patient, inaccurate diagnosis, more interested in pushing pills than using a thoughtful, comprehensive approach to patient care.

Dr. Strgar is an absolutely incredible, professional, and compassionate psychiatrist. I wish every psychiatrist was like him. He has been a lifesaver for our family!!!

After 5 years misdiagnosis, we went to Dr. Strgar and he listened carefully, supported us making appointments to rule out other causes. He medicated carefully and explained benefits and risks thoroughly. He and our allergist correctly identified airway obstruction and the resulting severe sleep deprivation as the cause of our child's emotional regulation problems. He communicated with all our other specialists. He always returned our calls from the E.R.

Excellent Dr. Listens to me and gives me encouragement. Doesn't give me a pill for every complaint. Has helped me through many issues.

Does not do initial intake--no history, accepts other doctor's diagnoses, is not interested in the context in which symptoms or changes in symptoms take place. He has a flat affect and appears to be depressed himself--expressionless face, no contact, withdrawn. Indifferent attitude.

Dr. Strgar is a thoughtful, sincere man. I've been seeing him for about a year and have been very pleased with his service; he doesn't throw a blizzard of prescriptions at me but is also not reluctant to write them when we both feel it's warranted and only if a problem becomes ongoing and would benefit the issue. Additionally, Dr. Stgar works well with the developmentally disabled population and accepts the Oregon medical card. At least one of his office-mates does, as well. That unfortunately isn't always the case.I would, and do, recommend Dr. Strgar to anyone who mentions a need for a medical mental health professional.

attempts to over-medicate. Looks exhausted himself; shows marginal understanding of diagnoses, appears to make hasty diagnoses in the interest of time management and moving patient along the conveyor belt of "treatment" . Likes to dispense "samples" of meds in a "let's try this out" manner. I've somehow cured my own suspected "thought disorder" with a better diet, exercise, and knowledge of buffoons like this-doctors, heal thyselves.
