Dr. Francis Arena, MD

Dr. Arena was a kind and compassionate physician at a time of need. Usually I wouldn't write reviews like this, but he went above and beyond to help me, so I'm doing the same. He's in high demand, so expect to maybe wait a bit, but everything worth having is worth the wait. He was considerate, caring and helped me fight one of the hardest battles of my life.

Dr Arena is not only has the acquired expertise of a medical oncologist, but has an aura of knowledge, calmness and hope. I was so anxious and fearful but Dr. Arena assured me I I will be okay. I believe him. I felt safe and knew I was In the hands of the “ miracle man.” Today was my best day since I was diagnosed with breast cancer. He put me at ease during a thorough exam and is in the process of conferring with the breast surgeon. I feel like I am the luckiest person todat that I found Dr. Arena. His professionalism and his office staff, nurse and NP get the highest rating. I’m going

My mom went to this doctor and really thought he cared about her. She visited his office on a Friday after having chemo to be told she was doing well even though she was in a wheelchair and feeling very weak. By Sunday we called an ambulance as she was septic. Dr Arenas office will advise you to go to North shore hospital so that Dr Arena can monitor his patients. He never showed up. Her care in the ER of north shore hospital Mahassett was horrible. I called Dr Arenas office and his associate was rude and dismissive. After my mom cried to see Dr Arena for over a week as her condition worsened, multiple calls to his office were made, he never showed up. My mom passed away and one of my memories is her asking, “where is Dr Arena?” “What did I do to him?” Her care at North shore was horrible also. Doctors should care about their patients. His office did not even know she passed away as they called after she died to confirm her appointment to the office. Horrible experience. My mother… deserved better as all patients do..

Dr. Arena was quick to see me, accurate in diagnosis and highly caring in his bedside manner while I went through chemo therapy and eventually a mastectomy. His wife was lovely, and attentive, and I like coming to a "family business" - it's not often you find them these days. His charisma carried me through some tough times. Reading some of the reviews I understand why some may not like him talking about his foundation, but if you've attended one of their events you'd understand the wonderful charity work they do, and help people like me, so no qualms here. Thank you, Doc.

Dr Arena is the only Dr who has spent time with my husband to discuss his illness and history. A very informative man who is very concerned for his patients. Went out of his way to help my husband with diabetes Issues also. . Thank you Dr Arena.

Generally sleazy, insincere. Cares more about getting money for his foundation than the patients. Stay away!!!

Amazing

Horrible bedside manner, with God like complex and likes to use people as his Guinea pigs for his research facility( The Sass Foundation ). His treatment to my father was deplorable. I would never recommend him. Human beings should be treated as humans, not lab animals.

My father was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Dr. Arena was my father's primary doctor but we never saw him in the hospital-only his colleagues. Dr. Arena's bedside manner is terrible. He is a very good salesman with lack of compassion. He sold my dad on the treatment and they his staff took over with his direction? When my father passed away we never heard from Dr. Arena. We understand he join forces with Langone. I understand from a patient. I would be treatment first and then finances now it is finances then treatment. All about the money! I will plan on sending the the Doctor's Pray. He needs it!

He saved my life. He is my angel!
