Dr. Francis Benz, MD

Best neurologist I have seen! Dr. Benz is an expert in the field of migraines. I had a history of at least one migraine per day, while living in another state. My husband and I had no social life and I missed many work days. After retiring, we located to South Carolina and miraculously found Dr. Benz. Frank Benz reviewed my medical history, including all the previous and current prescriptions that were ordered. He listened to my concerns and asked appropriate questions. Dr. Benz was caring and did not rush the initial visit. He discussed some changes to my medication and worked with my insurance carrier. I was accompanied to the appointment desk and was seen in 3 weeks to determine progress. I continue to be his patient for over 3 years and highly recommend him as an expert in the state of the art migraine treatment. I currently experience 0 to 1 migraines per month. If I do need his help, his staff return calls in less than 24 hours. I see him every 3 months. Dr. Benz is a… great person who cares for his patients.

First visit to Dr. Benz was last week. He was curt and grouchy. Was dismissive of recent concerns, and basically told me to deal with them, without attempting to address the causes. Did document my history, however did not do much other than to tell me to keep doing what I'm doing. I expect at least some discussion of the causes of my recent neurological issues. His patient interaction skills were poor. He overall seemed mad at me throughout. Not pleased overall with the level of care. Won't go back.

NO ONE CALLED ME BACK WHEN HE HAD A SEZIURE, HE ASKED ME CALL THE NURSE...... WOW.....

Took time to talk over all our concerns and questions

I had taken my mother who has alzheimers to Dr. Benz after having her see another neurology group that was very unplesant to deal with. I check reviews on him after being disatisfied the other doctor. A few people at a support group recommended him so we went and I was pleasantly surprised. He took the time with us, he reviews all the previous notes and he looked for other causes for her memory problem. He talked to her and didn't ignore her like some other doctors did. He made some good recomendations that we had not heard before. We have been back to him several times and are very happy we made the change.

I WAS A PATIENT FOR OVER 3 YRS. DID NOTKNOW MY PROBLEM WAS NOR DID HE REFER MEELSE WHERE. AFTER MY TRIP TO MUSC DID IFIND OUT MY DIAGNOSIS. HE HAD NO CLUE.I HAVE NOTHING NICE TO SAY SO I WILL SIGN OFF....

Very thorough, listend to issues , was able to make difficult diagnosis and provided good followup.

Don't waste your time. You will end up having to find a new Dr. Very uncaring, doesnt listen and makes you wait a long time.

Doesnt seem to listen. Decided on the problem and the solution without explanation. Got frustrated with any questions. Would not recommend.

Took over one year to provide diagnosis by which time brain damage was pretty severe.
