I arrived at the ER with complaints of stomach cramps that had been going on for two years. Dr. Demuth was quick to get me admitted to the hospital for a surgery and my problem was found!!! Dr. Demuth LISTENED to me when I told him all about my "episodes" and all the diagnosis that I have had but was still having my problem. Because of Dr. Demuth's caring and excellent medical experience I am now on track to get a diagnosis to finally help my medical problem.

I was recently treated in the St. Joe emergency room by Dr. Demuth and he was the best emergency room doctor I have ever seen. His attention to detail was unbelieveable . I had a terrible back sprain, but he wanted to rule out any kidney distress and provided comprehensive tests to rule out Kidney and other complications. At 84 years old, his gentle compassionate manner is highly commended and appreciated. Thank you Dr. Demuth!

My father was at the Sinai ER and after reviewing my father's MOLST and advanced directives, I decided to honor my father's wishes for no extreme measures. I asked Dr. Demuth so send him to hospice and he asked me where I thought he could find a hospice at that time of day (Saturday a.m. between 7-9). Did not call for a social worker to arrange hospice. I asked whether he could stay in the ER or on a floor because he was dying and it would be cruel to move him. He said that death wasn't imminent and could take days or even a week. I did some research on my phone that said death would be hours to a day. Instead, called Levindale where my dad was in rehab (avoid that place, too. Go to Good Sam) and said that my dad should never have been sent to Sinai since my father's advanced directives said nothing was to be done and that he should not be his patient. He was angry that they had sent him a patient and was very short and nasty to Levindale as well. My father got… to Levindale where the only people who checked on him were two young aides. They had no Atavan to relieve his anxiety during seizures and oxygen hunger; they ordered it from an outside pharmacy and it arrived 15 minutes after my father died in the early evening. His certainly didn't follow the Hippocratic Oath to first do no harm and moved him to a situation where he could not receive care that a doctor is to provide. On a separate occasion, my son was taken to the Sinai ER where they told me the ER doc would have to stitch my son's wound from an auto accident, but that "she doesn't do this usually" but that there was no surgeon available. They then prescribed the wrong antibiotic, and had I not told them to open a new bottle of saline , they were going to use an open bottle of that was sitting on the counter when he was put in the room. He ended up having to see a plastic surgeon. If an ambulance says they must take you to Sinai, tell them you will stay where you are. You have as good a chance dying there as in the ambo.

Terrible, I don't know what he learned in med school... but he doesn't know anything about infections. I suffered horribly after he failed to diagnose. Avoid Sinai at all costs.
